Bruce Miles,

If you are lurking around, checking out this thread, we are sending up the bat signal to get your take on these rumors. Any inkling of this being a possiblity?

Someone should actually write him, I assume he has an email adress somewhere.

Just curious, but has Bruce been on the boards today at all? Although, I bet one of the posters around here have his e-mail address.

I saw him lurking last night a little bit. Haven't seen his name today though.

I went and played nine hoels of golf today!

Then i rushed back and planted my butt back in this chair....

Good Lord, you played golf in this heat??

Yes i know. It's very hot here in Louisville. I live in Jefferson County, you?

You played too? I played 9 holes in Midland, MI today, where it's much cooler and was a beautiful day for my first time on the course this year.

I shot an 11 over par 47. I don't think Tiger Woods is worried. How'd you do?

It should be interesting to see what pans out up until game time and after the game. Although if Dunn comes to Cubs tonight he just could walk from one dugout to the other as would Sergio. That would be a funny sight!

No. This would be much better (from page three, for you premium folks. Probably about five for non premium)

maybe dunn will be traded this afternoon and i'll see his first game?!

what if it got finalized in, say, the 3rd inning? they should do it like a wrestling storyline. dunn comes to the plate, wearing his reds uniform. then, what's this? his uniform feels a little itchy, so he starts to take it off, and THERE'S A CUBS uniform under it! kerry wood then gives dunn and evil smile, dunn gives an evil smile right back, and then they embrace. the reds dugout is really pissed off, so they charge wood and dunn, but wood and dunn destroy them all (with the help of a steel chair), and the cubs win the world series.

and it'll happen while i'm in attendance!

I did horrible. I think I ended up like fifteen over par. Which is bad when the course is so small. I went with a friend, though. So we were just there for gits and shiggles. We had a good time.

But I am sure it is only because your mind was on the dunn trade right.

Yeah golf is more fun than I thought it'd be....

But back to Dunn - this deal is too good to be true.

You would think so, but there are so many signs that keep pointing to yes. This trade is screwing with my head. I want to walk away from the cpu but i keep getting pulled back in by little signs of hope, (eg. dunn not starting, kearns brought up, two spots emptied out on the roster, gammons saying it isnt happening). Ah, the life of a cubbie fan. So much loyalty for a team that still sucks.

Is sweet still around?? Are you still here man. Tell us more. When is this buddy going to be called again?

By the way there is not a sniff of this anywhere else, so if it turns out to be true--YOU ARE THE MAN

I just keep sitting and waiting.

By the way I golfed today too!!!!!

Shot a 85. (par 72)

If this is the same sweetemotion that likes aerosmith (back a few pages - too lazy to find it) he is a she. There is another thread on that site started by sweetemotion wanting to know what people think of a woman with a tatoo as she was thinking of getting one. So, she would be the woman!

Sorry but he didn't go into any in-depth details about this deal, but it's interesting to note that about a week ago he told me the Reds proposed a deal involving Dunn to the Astros for Jason Lane and Brandon Backe that the Astros turned down, so apparently the Reds at least wanted an ML-ready OF if they were going to deal away Dunn.

Either this guy is good and is feeding stuff from our own board, OR he could be very right. Isn't this the same deal Vance spoke from his Astros source OML

Toss in Troy Patton and you got that exact deal.

I assue this poster can read, so I wouldn't use that as confirmation.

Sorry if that comes off a bit harsh, but I don't buy it. I hope I'm wrong.

Frankly, I don't buy it either however, I will gladly apologize if it comes to fruition. The problem with this supposed trade is that Jim Hendry was live on The Score yesterday afternoon saying that Corey would not be traded (in direct response to questions about the rumors that he was being shopped). He sounded extremely emphatic and everyone knows Hendry is a big Patterson supporter therefore, I have no faith in this trade.

Below is a post from our beloved founder Tim in the Choi for Lee thread...while off topic, I thought it was rather funny all things considered...

This is an awful move. That said, I'm going to check Lee's stats outside of Florida's immense park

Yea, I tried to bump that thread. Apparently, one of the mods wasn't too keen on it and sent it back to 2003...

It is pretty funny to see how others reacted to the trade.

Before it got locked and banished, that was some of the funniest stuff I have ever seen. People really do fall in love with prospects here. I thought that was a great move from the begining. What do I know?

EDIT: Oops i accidently posted the same thing twice.

But yeah lets make use of this post.

I think that even if we do start him the trade could still take place because maybe if it was going through tonight we dont want Hill to pitch us tomorrow or something to that

Jim Hendry (numerous dates over the winter) - "Sammy Sosa will be my right fielder"

Yeah; and see my thread re Hendry's comments to Gammons re trading CPatt. Looks like he is trying to drive up Cory's value....
