I think he was saying he'd call again. Geez, we're all on edge, aren't we...

That's true.

It does add to the chances of him being a troll...I remember Dave/dovemason and his breaking news over at espn all the time...I just don't want "lurkers" to be afraid to post stuff like this in the future if they would come accross a "scoop"...If this doesn't happen, I'd like Sweetemotion to at least post again with an explanation from his source...I don't think just because it might not happen that it means he was trying to lead anyone on.

If this somehow falls through, I'll surely call my source and ask him what happened, but I doubt this falls through anyways.

What happened to you calling your source now....

Well, I've seen these rumors alot.

I try not to come off as mean spiritied. But one of his posts on the last two pages made me trust him a little less. I guess I'll just have to wait to see how it turns out.

Personally, I just can't believe they would do a trade like this while in Cincinatti. Can you imagine what it would be like to have one of the stars of your team batting against you one day after being in your dugout?

Of course, last year, I went to a Twins-Red Sox game the day of the Nomar trade. Doug Mientkewicz got a standing O the first time he came up for the Red Sox, and he had batted for the Twins the previous night. But he wasn't an Adam Dunn type of figure.

They could always announce the trade after the game was over- in in fact there was a trade. We'll know for sure when the Iowa game starts. If Hill starts the game then this was 20 pages worth of yanked chain. If he gets pulled then apologies will be gladly handed out by me.

I always thought that Mientkewicz was a fan favorite.

Yeah you said that you would call!

Also Cruz is starting tonight. Freel is playing 2nd and leading off for them also.

Its all adding together! Although Cruz can play RF LF and 1B so who knows he may start for someone else instead of Dunn.

I think he was. But that was based more on his early performance. He kind of wore out his welcome toward the end, especially with Gardenhire. The comments I heard at that game were more perplexed that they didn't get anything more than Justin Jones for him.

NOt neccisarily. he said today or tomorrow. SO, if he's not full of it, it could still happen tomorrow.

While the whole KEarns being recalled is interesting, the thing that intrigued me most from the Redzone boards were that for some reason they seemed to think Jacob Cruz was going to get a start tonight--FOR WHO????

On the Cincinnati radio pregame last night Jerry Narron said he was going to start Valentin at catcher tonight and tomorrow and get Cruz a start in right field tonight.

Isn't XM Radio a great thing?

Maybe, but I doubt they'd risk Hill getting hurt just so he could make one last start for the I-Cubs.

If it's not a done deal yet there's no reason to pull him from his start.

Honestly, if this deal happens I don't see it being announced until Thursday after the series is over so Hill starting tonight means nothing.

I hate threads like this. The whole time the thread continues I just continue to slowly rise my hopes and eventually it all leads to disaster.

With Nomar I wasn't even around to see it until it actually happened so there wasn't so much stress.

What we need is a good old fashioned Daniel Stern loyalty quiz ala Diner for this dude. So far he doesn't pass the smell test IMO.

I'm really torn. I dont know whether to beleive him or not. My brain says NO NO NO NO NONONONONONONONO. But, boredom and lack of any other information wants me to beleive he is right.

If they pull Hill from his start tonight and trade him tonight maybe he can start tomorrow night and dominate the Cubs.

Obviously Gammons has been known to be wrong about trades before, but he just indicated in his chat on ESPN.com (going on right now) that the latest out of Cincinatti is that Dunn " IS NOT" going anywhere. Edited by Tedward

I remember last year right when the deadline had past and Gammons said Nomar was not traded and was staying in Boston. 5 minutes later the story broke that Nomar was traded to the Cubs.

You just beat me to this.

He says Dunn & Kearns "aren't available." Then said the Cubs aren't likely to make any "big" trade, though a deal for someone like Byrnes is possible.

That was priceless.

And, this is really the best news all day. Now we have the gammons stamp of approval. Thats EXACTLY what he said about Nomar. EXACTLY. Right before it happened too.

That, right there, just proved to me that Dunn is being traded as we speak. Gammons' trade speculation is always bizarro. If he says something's happening it isn't, if he says something isn't, it is.

Sometimes I think Timmah from South Park is more likely to break a story than Gammons...

And you would sure think if the deal is really this close to going down, no way Hill starts...

I still want a sign of some sort..............I mean I just think it is weird if Dunn is in the line-up tonight trying to beat the cubs when the 2 teams have agreed in principle to a deal. I guess i just don't know how it all works. I will say this--the reds have been real active today--makes you think the wheels are churning for thme. I guess we just wait.............................more

Tell us more Sweet, more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully he means Ken Byrnes or Monty.

HAHAHAHA... this is about the best endorsement this rumor could get.

Remember last year.. about 2 minutes after the deadline passed.. "Nomar isn't going anywhere."

The funniest part was, just as he was saying it on ESPNews, the ticker at the bottom read "4-Team Trade Announced" or something like that.

EDIT - just a little late on this one...
