  1. I noticed the pitch clock in the outfield when they zoomed out. I hope they will implement those to prevent any more Pedro Baez's from taking too long.
  2. Schwarber lines out to the shift in short right.
  3. I hope when he hits a beautiful massive dong in his first AB he hits home plate, packs his horsefeathers and heads to Skyharbor for his flight to Cleveland. Doesn't even round the bases, just bat flips and walks to the dugout. Kyle Schwarber - "Ultimate Beer League Champion"
  4. Long time lurker reporting in! This. Is. Our Year.
  5. Ross Career vs. LHP .242/.323/.439 Montero Career vs. LHP .234/.299/.354 Ross may be old, but his career numbers suggest he hits a bit better than Montero. I think both are good in their own right.
  6. has he had an appearance yet? [expletive] JAMES RUSSELL NOOOOOOO My mind was thinking what pile of nonsense is Russell a closer.
  7. Finally a run....2-10 RISP, but finally a run!
  8. This made me laugh, but it's kind of a fun hypothetical. Maybe for Mike Olt and Herrera's rally cap.
  9. Think how the Kings felt after they had to blow up their team. Although they got lucky they could clear cap space thanks to the Canadian Border Patrol.
  10. Would seem we don't have to move all three (unless they plan for some other big splash) Sharp would be the easy choice if you were to move someone. He is 33, so if the Hawks want to move to a younger winger, then he would first. It seems that with the move of Saad, they still maybe looking to build depth using Sharp as leverage since they don't necessarily have to move him.
  11. Patrick Sharp - 5.9MM cap hit Kris Versteeg - 2.2MM cap hit Bryan Bickell - 4MM cap hit Total saving neglecting what we receive back in trades: 12.1MM
  12. Sharp-Toews-Hossa Teuvo-Anisimov-Kane Dano-Shaw-Panarin Versteeg/Bickell-Kruger-Nordstrom/Hartman/Morin That second line looks beastly. I could do without Bickell and Versteeg's cap number so I hope they do indeed move them with Sharp in several deals. Some of their up and comers in the AHL looked good.
  13. Oduya has been on record saying he will test free agency first.
  14. Castro should hit 6 or 7, definitely not 4.
  15. For what our prospects can get and the name Jon Niese, yes.
  16. Let's win and not hit into double plays while there are more than 2 runners on.
  17. Right division, right handedness, wrong team and player The guy gets $9 mil next year... And $10 mil or a buyout? Can I hire his agent to work my next deal? That's seriously like the most common thing. Like nearly every contract with an option year has a buy out. I was referring to MLBTR saying $9 mil next year and $10 mil/buyout for 2016. Next year = 2016. The contract is still no good if we trade prospects for basically a rental. Theo's plan has always been long term, so I think he will trade for something more long term anyway. As was said earlier, it's the wrong player to trade for.
  18. Gordon is currently at .424 BABIP and a 3.2 WAR already this year which was his WAR with the Dodgers before being traded. He is a good risk for possibly a couple of mid-level prospects or possible one mid and one low. I won't say to trade the farm for him, but his upside looks good.
  19. Right division, right handedness, wrong team and player The guy gets $9 mil next year... And $10 mil or a buyout? Can I hire his agent to work my next deal? No to Niese for that kind of money, but since the Marlins will be in sell mode after Stanton's injury I hope we can target Dee Gordon. It depends to see how Javy does after he comes back and if Theo is willing to move Castro for pitching that was surmised early in the year, but Gordon is on a 1yr 2.5MM contract with a lot to prove and his stats show. He may be better at leading off than Fowler. Plus he will be entering his prime years since he will be 28 next year.
  20. Now I want a transcript of that meeting with Lou, LOL. Lou: Kosuke, if your going to hit better, eat some more natto. Kouske: Hai, wakarimashita! (Yes, I understand!)
  21. Should they shut down the Royals because they haven't done well for 20 plus years. I don't think so. I have been to their ballpark and it is really beautiful. They add a really great family, small town feeling at the ballpark. That is something the MLB needs from some teams. Why should they have a team when they can't be competitive, can't draw fans, can't keep their good players, etc etc. Having franchises like the Royals and Pirates casts a dark cloud over the MLB. Other small market teams have proven you can win with a small payroll, but these 2 teams can't even figure out a way to do that. Hell, the Twins traded away arguably the best starting pitcher in baseball for nothing and still found a way to compete for the umteenth straight year. Well then you proved my point. As long as there is a potential for the Royals and Pirates to emualte teams like the Marlins, Rays or Twins who have low yearly payrolls and still produce playoff caliber teams, then blame it on the management. It is still possible for them to have winning seasons and compete. Also, it is still no reason to contract the teams because they haven't done so well in many years.
