It's a tough schedule but what makes the whole thing so annoying is that 4 out of the top 5 or 6 teams in the NFC are all in the NFC North. We need some of these teams to start playing bad, and fast.

We'll see if the Vikings are the house of cards many of us suspect.  There's a decent chance they'll have 5-6 losses after week 14.

Packers next 4:  @NE, Min, Bye, @LA
Vikings next 4: Buf, @GB, SF, ATL
Lions next 4: @Mia, NE, TB, Chi
Bears next 4 (after tonight to line this up): TB, Bye, NO, @Det

Taking Opp. Win % for the next 4
Vikings have the toughest with a .667 Opp win %
Packers next with .652
Lions with .467
Bears with .455

If you add tonight's game in there, that puts the Bears with a slightly tougher schedule than the Lions...as the Bears Opp win % moves up to .483.

Anything can happen of course, but the Vikes and Pack are gonna need to really prove themselves here in the next block of games.

I’m not denying that, but 7/10 games are going to be against playoff teams, and if you throw in the resurgent Bucs, that’s 8. Seeding is the problem here and it’s so damn frustrating.

Injuries can happen, Josh Allen could miss a game with an injury for the first time since his rookie year but the same applies to the Bears. I’m just annoyed.

Resurgent Bucs? Bro... calm down. I mean this is the result of kicking ass last (or any) year. The schedule is going to be tough. It's part and parcel.

Yeah, the Bucs (and the NFC south overall) are honestly about the easiest parts of the remaining schedule.

I’m calm, just annoyed at the timing of where this team is at and it just so happens that the Bears play in a division with 3 different teams that haven’t had a losing record in 2 years and going on 3.

All of Tampa's losses have been against teams with winning records, including 2 teams the Bears played and lost to. Let's not look past our current opponents with assumptions of an auto "W". We should win. We better win. It will be a short week to get everyone healthy and ready to play Sunday night after a very tough matchup against Seattle.

They beat two NFC South teams and the Cowboys.

If the Bears can beat the Seahawks, there will be plenty of potential for a let down heading into the bye.  I don't think that'll be the case...I don't think Caleb, and Ben, and Jeffrey will allow that...but, it's possible.  But regardless, the Bucs are no good.

Good teams will always have a couple games where they struggle against bad teams. But make no mistake: The Buc's are no damn good. The Bears can and should manhandle them.

So much of the way the Bears game comes down to whether or not we can put points up early on. if we can, this team can dictate much of the rest of the game to the opponent. We control the clock and how many possessions there'll be in the game, we deny them the opportunity to run as much as they may like, and we keep the pressure up on them, which often leads to sacks and turnovers. That's the biggest thing, pretty much game in and game out. The Bears will likely do this against most mediocre to bad teams. The question is how it works against pretty good teams. We shall see!

I like the idea of taking it week by week. I mean, what else can you really do? The season is pretty fluid. And it comes down to more than just the records. It's a matchup-by-matchup landscape. For example, teams going up against us might be looking at our record saying the Bears are pretty good and we are. But maybe they have a guy who will torch JJ and they use that to great effect.

Or like has been suggested, key injuries can change everything. Getting key guys back can change everything too, like when we got Gordon back.

Funny you bring that game up, I was just thinking of what was, to me, the nadir of the 2024 Eberflusian (although I think Thomas Brown was technically coach) Bears, the Seattle game that year.

Seattle wins 6-3 in one of the most embarrassing offensive games I can remember. Caleb Williams was sacked 7 times. Just terrible all around.

Thank god we will never go back to that place.

If the Bears win this, they’ll definitely make more waves in the national media but more importantly they’ll have made some space in playoff rankings and set up a great position before the bye.
