This will absolutely be that kind of series.

In fact I fully expect the Cubs to have a 33% winning percentage through the end of September, while outscoring the opposition in every series.

Blake Snell for 5/$136.96. I think he did just fine. I agree with yiu on what Holmes should get. But it doesn’t hurt for him to check out the market, if that is what the Cubs offer.

If they sweep the Brewers (a big if) then I maintain hope for the division.  Anything else and it’s done in my mind.

The Cubs have underperformed their pythag win record by at least 4 games every season since 2023 by a 5.3 win average.
