The Cubs have underperformed their pythag win record by at least 4 games every season since 2023 by a 5.3 win average.

That's just bonkers. 

I'm just so glad Bregman turned it around so considerably.  After Heyward and a few others, I was worried he'd be another big money signing and turn out to suck.  Yu Darvish basically closed the Ricketts' wallet for a long time.  

Hopefully that means they can keep Seiya after this year as well.

On the season, the Phillies are 51-30 against teams under .500 and 27-30 against teams .500 or better.  Their September schedule is tough.  Let’s see what happens.

It is funny that after so much wailing and gnashing of teeth (and I was among the gnashers) about losing Kyle Tucker, we ended up waaaaaaaaaaaay ahead in that transaction.

Fantastic trade-off - we always forget the season is 162 games long.  Hell, Conforto is giving us more than Tuck is giving the Dodgers this year as has been well chronicled.

I can't figure out how to find WAR for a specific time period on FG, but I read somewhere and I believe it's true that Tyrone Taylor has been worth more WAR since we acquired him than Kyle Tucker has all season.

I agree he should be talking to Holmes. But if he doesn’t sign him that doesn’t mean he didn’t try. Takes two to make it happen. Certainly he should be trying. Supposedly the Mets were going to try extending him. So maybe he is willing to listen.
