This umpire needs to retire like all the other crappy umpires who have retired since ABS has come into baseball.

Yeah, this has been a brutal day behind the plate

Definitely more noticeable today than most in recent memory.

Happ can be a hero if he can get a hit

Ian’s gonna have to have a mighty hot streak at some point to get to his usual numbers. Not idea in a contract year for him.

Happ is unreliable

Unfortunately so is Bregman, in spite of recent success.  He’s here to get runs home in high leverage situations exactly like these.

I'm sure someone will come in with the advanced metrics that show Happ has actually not been terrible... but Happ has been terrible.

Happ hasn't been particularly good for a bit. He's been okay-ish against RHP since June, with a 103 wRC+. He's been worthless against LHP.

In his defense, he hit what was likely a HR on a normal day to give the Cubs the lead in his last PA. He hit it hard. Hard to blame him there and he's been much better.

Doesn't erase the first part of the year though.

The only solution to this today is to make a big trade and make everyone happy.

A big trade, you say? Like for a big name player, you reckon? Are we thinking the Dodgers won’t ruin those plans?

The one before he didn’t though.  For him to be worth that acquisition I need to feel good when he comes up with runners in scoring position and I don’t.  I’m not alone in that either.

I'm with you, unfortunately.  I don't feel good, when I see him and Happ with RISP.
