What was he saying?  I lived there for 20+ years and a lot of it is frustration with the direction of the team and for me personally, I skipped a ton of games where tickets were cheap because the concessions are so ridiculously priced.  It's almost $16 for a 25 oz. Busch Light before tip.

He was saying that the downtown area of St. Louis has a bed reputation around the league, which isn't the fault of the Cardinals

Yes and no.  They killed a ton of small businesses by building Ballpark Village and it's just a cesspool of corporate bars and restaurants they've tried to dress up as small businesses.  But downtown STL has been dying for 20 years and the pandemic really was a death knell because of the number of businesses that closed, sent people to work from home permanently, or moved their offices elsewhere in the metro area.  It's no less safe than any other downtown area and people who say otherwise don't spend any time there.

I don't think they were implying it was crime-ridden or unsafe, just that it isn't a place people want to go

Assad is scheduled to pitch Friday per Tmac..

And for what it worth,  Owen Ayers is not in Iowa lineup today

BN just said that Assad is now going on Thursday so Shota can face the Yankees on Friday

That downtown has fallen by the wayside a bit.

I love it.  Assad vs. the Yankees feels like a disaster waiting to happen.

Whereas I think Shota had one of his best career performances at Yankee stadium a few years back.  Another great decision by CC.

I'm not questioning the decision, but the Yankees aren't even the Yankees right now. Judge, Stanton, and Bellinger are all out.

That was last year.  Shota pitched great against the real Yankees.  Kelly was catching that game.😁

Probably, Assad will be fine, as long as Kelly is the catcher (1.86 ERA this year).
