Mets announcers said that that "slide past 2nd on a walk" play gets called 3-4 times per year

not on a ball 4 play. and not when the coming off the bag part is due to the fielder applying a tag that doesn’t matter.

guess the lesson is to always throw through in that situation and apply an overly aggressive tag and hope you knock the guy off the base for a millisecond (but only after he touches it for a millisecond before that).

The announcers said they'd never seen it before

Boog said that was the right call.  I'm confused.  It's new to me.

I feel like we could go back and find dozens of examples where it wasn’t given a second thought.  It was a walk.  Dude gets 2nd base.  Done.

Not a surprise that the national guy would think so.

Dansby finally breaking out?

At least, for now.  He's been really hot lately.  He will compete for the player of the week.😁

Probably can, most dugouts likely dont risk challenging that call to see if runner came off

He’s definitely heating up - that’s encouraging to see for sure

Now, Nico and Bregman need to follow the trend.

Are they saying because he slid past the bag he was considered attempting to advance past 2nd? I’ve never heard of that happening.

Ronny Cedeno vs St. Louis in 2006. Same thing. I was horsefeathers livid.

This take will probably piss some people off but the Cubs are a better team with Javy Assad starting than Cabrera.  Still sad about his injury, but hardly a loss they can't overcome.

Do you remember I posted last week?  My brother said Assad is our new ace.😁

Yeah, Cabrera's injury really sucks.
