LOL Rolison throws a wild pitch and falls on his face trying to get to the plate.

Between that and the Cubs turning a PCA cycle into 2 runs (pre-rally) yesterday and PCA getting picked off after the single, we are finally approaching fun-bad territory, which is at least better than boring-bad.

cubs lead the league in pitching injuries and HRs allowed, while also having the worst velocity in the majors. BUT they also have zero pitching prospects that would crack a top 100 (200?) prospect list.

nobody involved in the pitching side of things in this organization should ever work in baseball again.

This feels like the end of the season right here. Wildcard is in play, but the injuries are just mounting up and has done so for a long time. We are down to Shota, Rea, Brown and Assad as starters. We are screwed.

So basically if everyone is healthy our 4th, 6th, 8th and 9th starters maybe?

Yet they treat Tommy Hottovy as some sort of pitching savant

TBH, after watching every ST game, I didn't have that much expectation on Cabrera.  I thought I'd be happy, if he's our #3 (of course, with Horton and Boyd healthy).  I thought Shota was going to be better.

I never was a big fan of Cabrera but Shota, one of my favorite players, to see his struggles since last season hurts.  I bet he goes to Tampa Bay next season and they turn him into a stud... lol

Hoyer should just blow it up , theyre getting nothing consistent from the bats, and the pitching is all but dead.

Trade who you can, especially the guys on final year, and play the iowa kids, maybe 1 or 2 will surprise them.

To his credit, he did do wonders with Horton and Brown.  But I wouldn't be opposed to some new voices in the clubhouse.

Still boring.

So boring in fact that I had didn’t realise PCA hit for the cycle until now.

HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT THE PITCH LAB

They developed a kick change for Jamo! and now he's given up 47 HRs!

the only “wonders” involving horton is me wondering whether he’ll ever throw 50 innings in a season.

Aside from the injuries - this is just a bad baseball team

This just isn’t true. They arent even a BAD baseball team with all the injuries. Now you can argue they are average. And it would be hard to disagree with you. But they are average with so many injuries. I don’t like the way the season is going. I am very disappointed. But they are not a bad team now, and without injuries would be pretty good.

Even with all the injuries, if they can hit with RISP a little better, they should be about 8 games above .500 now.  And, pretty much all the position players are healthy.

Tip of the cap to the Rockies, they’re the better team. It’s close but I’ll give them the edge.

Pretty much. It is that grim.
