Yet another Jameson Taillon start. I'm sure you're all very excited. Oh, and it's even Sunday Night Baseball, so the entire nation can experience it.

I'm watching the Sox at Phillies. It's insane that the Cubs didn't think enough of Schwarber to tender an offer.

The Cubs were completely broke that offseason according to Hoyer .  That’s why he was NT .

I'm not sure I agree Bregman should get the 4th most PAs on the team

I don’t care how good he has been before this season or how big his contract is, at this point he has to prove he belongs hitting 3rd or 4th. His OPS has declined every month since the start of the season. Batting him 3rd or 4th is on Counsell.

I agree with you.  But, at the same time, we have only 3 hitters with wRC+ over 100 in the last 30 days (PCA, Busch and Happ).  Bregman is 95.  So, he's like 4th or 5th best hitter in the team.  Counsell just doesn't have many options, and that's sad.  Seiya seems to be heating up lately, so I guess he can put Seiya in Bregman's spot.

You think it’s to not demoralize Bregman? In other words, dropping him to 6-8 would hurt more than help? He’s abysmal right now, so I agree he should drop, but Counsell is doing it intentionally

“Broke”. They had money. They could have paid him but chose not to.

Tallion changing it up by allowing his hard contact to remain in the park (so far) (and still landing for hits and runs scored)

Counsell gives veterans who have played historically well a really long rope and he’s given Bregman an even longer rope. Bregman has left the most runners on base in the majors this year. Move him down a few spots. Send a message.
