Funny theyve been going shirtless at WF bleachers for years

Yeah the difference is i think its a designated section where the fans are expected to chant throughout the game and act rowdy while not wearing shirts.

Its stupid because it’s manufactured and not organic and because the Cardinals are doing it but not the worst thing in the world to have more enthusiastic crowds

Don't forget, it's also populated with the sort of people who are mad at political correctness because they can't drop n-bombs in public any more.

Craig has to make the tough decision on Swanson now. For me, it's time to give Swanson's ab's to Ramirez and Nico moves over to SS. I do not care if defense takes a step back, the Cubs need to remove the rally killer from the starting lineup.

He needs a phantom DL stint once Shaw is ready

His chance of scoring was less than 5%. he was not being sent. But maybe they should have pinch hit for Dansby.

Yes this was more just an excuse to complain about Dansby.  As soon as I saw him held up at 3rd and realized Dansby was up, I immediately lost hope that we'd get the run home.

weeks away? I'm pretty sure Counsell said he's about to go on a short rehab assignment. Did I miss something?

I just saw that Shaw is supposed to start a rehab on Tuesday. AI told me he would be back by mid-June. I hope they do not rush him back.

I hate watching all this elite defense get wasted in these lifeless losses. Feels like it’s somehow gotten even better during this current 5-16 stretch

Jed didn’t commit $430 million to PCA, Nico and Swanson for their bats.

Its Missouri, they drop it anyway.

Jed Hoyer is just so bad at his job, he tricked me into giving him some roses after last year's team when I trashed him for years, but nah.

It took Kyle Tucker and career years from PCA, Nico, Suzuki and Busch to hit that 92 win mark.

Yep.

Hence why I feel stupid actually thinking he was decent at his job, even if it was for a short time.

But nah, not falling for Theo's nepo baby again.

I think Jed sucks, but acting like it took a lot of luck for them to win 92 wins last season just doesn't seem fair to me. hoerner was only a little bit above where he usually is, seiya did not have a career year, and PCA/Busch could duplicate the seasons they had several times for all we know

You can call exceeding projections luck if you want but The lack of slug is a problem this season. You’re right, Suzukis OPS was 40+ points lower than the previous 2 seasons, but he still had over 100 RBIs and in large part from his home runs. That element from the offense is missing so far. 3 guys with 30-+ home runs in addition to Nico almost batting 300 was a major reason they hit that 92 win mark.

Busch and PCA are both currently projected to match or exceed what they did last year.  Seiya Suzuki was worth 2.6 WAR last year.

Don't forget the pitching staff of Boyd, Imanaga, Taillon, Horton, Palencia, Keller, Thielbar, and Pomeranz, some of whom had career years while the rest had very solid numbers.

Ok, but what is the point of this? So is it Jed gets lucky if he picks up a guy and he actually has a good year, but Jed sucks if he picks up a guy who struggles? Or does he get credit for Theilbar, Keller, Boyd and Pomeranz actually performing well. Does he suck because the system never being up a good pitcher but get lucky when Palencia and Horton do well? I am not saying you do this, but some people only comment when Jed misses on a guy but when he hits it just luck. Evey winning team has guys do well in the year they win. Not really odd.

People just dont seem to be paying enough attention or at least directing it in the right places. Like how the hell do people not realize that we are top 5 wRC+ and 3rd in offensive war? Theyre not scoring like we need them to lately but its very obvious theyre not the problem to focus on. Lets stop bitching about PCA altogether. Hes looking at a 7 win season. Nico has settled back in at his usual pace, Busch has been his best self for quite a while now.

Jed's plan for the pitching staff this year has completely imploded and he is definitely on the hook for that. Most of the changes he made have been crap so far. The injuries have eroded the margin for error.

To me the bottom line is that we just might not have a rotation that can win this division. We need Boyd to come back and pitch like an ace just to have a fighting chance, and Brown needs to keep up his pace as well.

The core of position players performing at a consistently high level is really the only path towards winning games at the moment because the pitching sucks. Taillon falling off a cliff and Hortons absence have been major blows.
