7th HR allowed in Shota’s last 3 starts

Make that 8 HR allowed in shota’s last 3 starts

CC has such a long leash on Shota. And look, he’s only on 66 pitches thrown. He could still pitching in the 7th.

Has a team(s) ever bring up their top 2 hitting prospects from AAA and just have them sitting on the bench pretty much the whole time up

Just curious with this,  I mean they could of just brought up literally 2 other guys to just sit or just kept Lopez and brought up 1 other guy 🤷

Who are you sitting?

The premise is flawed.  Not all "top hitting prospects" are created equal.  This is a weak system and the Cubs so-called top prospects are fringe Major League players, not future All-Stars.

Shota now 4th in baseball in most HRs allowed this year. Still trailing the league leader (Taillon) by 6 though

Cardinals pulled a struggling starter and have largely shut down the Cubs offense since then. Shota will probably pitch the 6th for the Cubs.

Of course the Cardinals had an off day yesterday so likely had the flexibility

Just a curious question...

It more of why bring those 2 guys up to just sit when they could be getting valuable AB in Iowa.

Like I said, they could of just kept Lopez or chose 2 other guys to sit on the bench

The line between good and really bad is just too thin. He's not going to do very well in free agency.

Wouldn't surprise me if he and Suzuki end up going back to and playing in Japan to end their baseball careers

Dansby hitting .190 pisses me off more than anything else about this team at the moment.

Really? More than the inordinate amount of HRs we give up?

Paying 20M for this bum is rough

That's kind of Jed's thing.  Why pay 25-30 for a real top guy when you can pay 20 for a mediocre player that you can try to wish into a good season.

Well Ramírez replaced an injured player and actually did start twice. As for Alcantara, I am not sure the point of bringing him up. Should have just kept Lopez.
