What about Trevor Bauer though?

You can add a third category of "entirely insufferable" for very specific players, but Koppech has none of that from what I can tell.

The day Bobby Bonilla gets his last paycheck from the Mets will be the day that people stop suggesting that their favorite team signs him.

I do suspect we're going to see Charlie Barnes or Jordan Wicks pretty soon for this reason. Whether that's right away today or sometime in the next few days when the bullpen is in a little worse shape.  Ferguson has an option so no guarantee he's coming right to Chicago or that he's got a spot on lock.

It would help immensely if Wicks could get it together and be that MOR starter that was expected of him. Wasn’t he the safe, but boring pick? Cubs need that guy.

I'd love to have 2020 Andrew Chafin or 2016 Carl Edwards available. Is that a possibility?

Though, at that rate, could I get May 1998 Kerry Wood instead? That would probably help more.

PCA now the second most valuable offensive player on the team, 22nd best offensive player in baseball. Just a defensive monster.

Shota ninth in pitching value.

Add Luke Little to that mix, if he could start throwing mainly strikes, it would help stabilize the bullpen.

Little is completely different than Wicks, though. He was always a high ceiling guy. So always more of a risk. Wicks was supposed to be a guy counted on to be a MOR starter. Not a exciting pick “if he gets it all together”. A safe pick. That is why his struggles are more aggravating to me.

How are we winning so much with so many pitching injuries?  It's unbelievable, and unsustainable.

I know his numbers against lefties are already superficially good (though that's pretty clearly just BABIP).  But it feels like with the way he's getting inundated with lefty relievers and is starting to adjust has us pretty close to a "uh oh, Happy learned how to putt" moment.

He's so good and the only question is if the bat takes its great leap forward while his defense is still at his peak and we get an MVP year out of him.

PCA and Bregman are the only guys with wRC+ below 100.  That's pretty amazing.  Bregman needs to start hitting, though.

Shota is #8 in the latest power ranking.

It’s remarkable how PCA is on pace for over 6 fWAR with a 99 wRC+. No one else in the top 30 is under a 120. His catch probability on balls at 20% are 90%+ for him.

Bregman’s getting jammed way too often. I hope it’s not a bat speed issue anymore than the previous few seasons.

I love how we're catching Ozzie Albies while he's hitting better than ever. Expecting 6 HR this series lol

You mean next week?  Do think he was traded to the Rangers for this weekend.  Seriously though, when has that dipshit NOT hit the Cubs hard?

That's my bad, thought we were playing them now lol

Yeah he's the best hitting 2B ever if you just extrapolate his numbers vs us.

And of course, he's merely human vs. the rest of the NL Central.  Appears a good deal of his big numbers vs. the Cubs are Wrigley Field driven.  Well, at least from a power standpoint, 7 of his 11 career HR's vs. the Cubs at Wrigley.

It won’t get any easier against Randall Grichuk and the Whitesox.

I'm completely shocked at how much he's improved his swing decisions lately.  Looks like a whole new hitter.  If he keeps it up the sky is the limit for him.
