Extra inning win against the red-hot Red Redleggings McReddensteins.

Man, it's amazing how Colin Rea just keeps on Colin Rea-ing. He was pretty terrible until his age-32 season, after which he continues to be a great flex man.

The "red-hot" Reds have lost 5 straight.

That said, we played the Phillies at the right time, because they've now won 8 of 10

The bullpen is not in bad shape today per se, but it's not in great shape.  Today would be a really good day to just boatrace the Reds and let Corbin Martin eat two innings.

Luckily Brady Singer sucks so the conditions are ripe.

Yeah the Reds Reddit is pretty much us when the Cubs are sucking.  You could literally do a search and replace Reds -> Cubs and it’s one of our game threads.

Cubs Rotation has turned into Cabrera,  Imanaga,  and pray for offense 😅

It's more like Shota and pray for offense.  Cabrera has been fine, but not great.  We need super Jamo, like he was in the 2nd half of last year.

This situation really sucks.

Ballesteros went from 2 hits/game to 2 hits/week.

Some regression was expected.   It did not have to be that fast but his OPS is still > 900.

Cabrera has a 3.27 ERA and a 3.85 xFIP. That's an xFIP around Joe Ryan, George Kirby and Freddy Peralta. He's been pretty good and the K% is trending in the right direction.

Has Suzuki requested a challenge yet?

He seems to just not want to ask when it close

He has.  I think he thought it was too early, and nobody on base.

But, his xERA is 4.20 (which is worse than Jamo), and in his last 5 starts, his ERA is around 4.50.  Yes, K% is getting better.  I just don't have much confidence in him, just yet.  Oh, his walk rate has been improving, too.
