Absolute malfeasance if true, and unforgivable.

He did play really well in June, but the second the slugging stopped happening, which was way before now, something should have been done with an eye on the playoffs. Doubt he'll heal at this point, even if he actually did sit out long enough for it (which he probably would argue against anyway)

I'm confused. They knew and didn't tell the media or they're just finding out now?

Yes, the report is that Tucker was told in June about this

It changes nothing other than any hope his finger will fully recover and a big blow to their chances at a a deep playoff run. Is he still set to return this weekend?

They should have sat him long ago regardless of injury.  Dude needed a break, the whole world could see it.  Suzuki too.

Spectacular job Cubs. After a month of scuffling baseball I’m very happy to see you all back to form.

also big time props to Matt Shaw who struggled mightily, stuck with it, and has emerged as a real offensive force. You love to see it.

So glad to see the team getting back on track like any Cubs fan, but yes - Matt Shaw! I was rooting for that kid since the start, and like you said, so great to see him coming into his own at the plate and in some sense leading this team. Class act too - good team win tonight. It’s nice to see

Craig wouldn't say anything other then he would def play on the road trip, so I'm thinking he won't play until @Angels.

That’s good. He should be healed by then and back to normal..

Why do they constantly expect injured players to suck it up and try to grind through it?  There has been something off with Tucker for awhile and this would explain it.

It's so insane how they refuse to IL our hitters unless they like strain an oblique or something. Im seriously itlrritated.

Maybe it's a 4d chess move to try and get Tucker to sign for the least amount of money in the offseason because he didn't put up his expected numbers?  I'm joking, but only partially....this is still a business.  There are people in charge that could care less about the game.

It's currently 10+ weeks after a hairline fracture so Tucker has likely been injury free for a couple weeks.  He destroyed the ball when he was most injured immediately after the injury.  And from reading between the lines of Counsell's post game I don't think Tucker was very on board with an IL stint simply because he's struggling if he's not actively hurt.

Don't forget guys, Shaw has been excellent defensively. He did mishandle the grounder tonight but he's made some incredible plays in the field since he's been up

That's so horsefeathers annoying and incompetent.  Now does he even have enough time to heal before the playoffs or are we just getting this diminished version of him?

he's already healed

Seiya really needs to freaking protect. He just doesn't want to swing at anything in the shadows.

100%.  He has no 2-strike approach.

Alright, now get the win tomorrow.  5 games back with the tiebreaker in hand, the division could still be in play.

LET'S DO THIS.

Lol.  Well Cubs likely did him a solid and hid it from the league for a couple months to help his FA market, but can't hide it anymore.

At least he's not on the IL i guess.  He probably should have rested weeks ago.
