Oh yes, I forgot about that one.  What other soul crushers are there?

Losing the division by a game or two because PCA thought there were 3 outs after a catch a month ago and Dansby missed 1st base tonight would bring a new low point for this franchise.

The lowest point was signing Jed to an extension. If there’s something lower than that it’s from another planet.

Been a while. One steal since July 20th.

Seems teams tend to run most in April and May and then those numbers taper off. Am I making that up or is there something to it?

Tucker can't hit fastballs anymore, Seiya can't hit anything, and if anyone has the audacity to hit a ball hard it turns into a horsefeathers double play. Good times.

Seiya has stopped being aggressive in the zone

PCA has stopped stealing bases

Tucker has stopped hitting fastballs

Busch has stopped hitting anything

You can’t hide your best prospect in the minors forever. If there is an opening for someone who has pop, give him 2 weeks up here. He doesn’t have to play the field either.

No one is saying to hide him in the minors forever. But do you think two weeks when the Cubs offense is scuffling is that time to introduce a strikeout machine to the lineup?

To answer my own question; now is not the time for it.

Meanwhile Tucker with a terrible AB

Everyone knows he can't hit fastballs with whatever happened to his finger so that's all he'll get anymore

The lowest point is probably yet to come.  Sorry to say,  Hopefully not.

Lodolo pitches 1 2/3rds inning, 2 horsefeathers runs. They haven’t been fun to watch since the 4th of July weekend.

In a way, the Reds got a bit of a break with Lodolo going down with a blister. Don't get me wrong, great pitcher, but the Cubs lineup was geared to hit against a LHP not a barrage of RHP.

It's just one of those nights where all of the little things have worked against the Cubs.

**Obvious Statement Alert**

The Cubs will almost certainly make the playoffs  But if the can’t hit/score runs when the wind is blowing in, they have no shot in October.

Yep. In one fell swoop, the fanbase went from an exciting future without Jed to more of the same.

This team is dead...

50 games left, theyll get to 90 wins if they go 25-25, not sure if that'll be enough to win the Division with the way the Brewers are playing, but they should make the playoffs.

They might get pass the WC round best of 3 with Imanaga and Boyd, not sure if they'll get out of the Division round though.
