Favorable pitching matchup, sort of depending on Shotas velocity.. Going into the break in first place with a series win vs a playoff contender for the first time since taking 2/3 from a struggling brewers team in may would make for a nice 4 days.

The other thing on the line is that run differential, only a 2 run edge over the Yankees for the MLB lead. Get it done.

Does Vegas know something the pitching numbers don’t show?  Why are the Yankees the favorite in this game? Do they think the Yanks lineup matches up well versus our starter?

Warren is much much better than his ERA indicates, and the Yankees are good enough that they should be favored in most home games.

Shota hitting the high 80’s on his fastball since his return I assume is also part of the equation.

Yankees are the best in the league against LHP. Which makes what Boyd did yesterday that much more impressive

They in NewYork and it's the Yankees, plus any lineup that has Brujan starting is an automatic deduction 😅😅

Busch leading off, I like it

No Shaw again, so hes either getting a much needed break or like I said before, they could be sending back to Iowa after the break to get himself right mentally and work on things.

Hopefully this will be Brujan last game as a cub as they readjust the roster a bit during the break for the second half.

Like yesterday, just figure out a way to win a ballgame and the series, and continue the momentum into the second half.

I saw the Yankees lineup, I was hoping they sat a couple regulars to give them an extra day off 😅

There would have been zero reason for them not to send him back on Friday if they were sending him back. By waiting, it extends the time they would need to wait for him to return. That makes no sense.

This is trending much more like what I suggested on Friday; a three-day off series, plus the ASB to work on implementing a new mechanical tweak or approach change before he comes back post-ASB.

If they wanted him to work in Iowa, they'd have sent him there a few days ago.

Michael Busch hitting lead off. Happ 6th and Swanson 7th. Keep it like that against righties, Craig.

Also, can someone tell the Yankees fans that this chanting horsefeathers is horsefeathers annoying?
