I feel like Shaw doesn't know what he's looking for when he's up. Tucker locks in on a zone and swings. Shaw lets a lot of good pitches go (and shakes his head about it) then swings at pitches above his shoulders.

So they won't put in McGuire to face a righty in a critical spot vs the Mariners and they put in Kelly to face a righty in a critical spot tonight.  Funny!

Sorry, I don't feel like vomiting right now. Watching Taillon earlier already had me doing that.

Shaw is terrible, but Jed has painted himself into this corner.  His two other in-house 3B options are: 

1) Vidal Brujan - worse than Shaw both offensively and defensively 

2) Justin Turner - maybe a wash offensively and significantly worse defensively

He is cheating to get to the fastball in time and has stop walking as a result .  He is a complete mess and simply isn’t ready to hit at this level . Cubs have a huge problem here .
 

Earlier in the season when he was struggling , the team was doing well , so they could let him struggle . Not the case anymore .   It was a mistake by Hoyer not adressing the 3B depth , just in case .

JD called for a squeeze bunt. If they did that Tucker would have been running. PCA did that in his own. Just a dumb play by PCA. 2 dumb PCA plays cost the Cubs this one. They will probably lose by more than 1, but if they were winning Keller would be pitching this inning.

Can always look for an upgrade in bullpen and bench.

You aren't wrong, but that just shows all of us how bad Hoyer has mismanaged the situation. Not even our biggest problem right now, that's the pitching. Can't win trying to get ten runs every night.
