This is the “it’s hot as hell and I need a shower” strike zone.

If he wants to keep it for the 9th that's fine with me.

It's obvious that none of their mommies brought orange slices for them.

Mr Freeze Ice Pops in my day. We weren't really health conscious.

And none of the strike calls were egregious.

The last one seemed to be to me.

Cal is having a great year. Glad he had a poor day before that solo homer. Maybe Tucker can take note of how easy it is to go yard oppo at Wrigley on a day like today.

That had no business getting out

Normal day Happ catches that thing 20 feet before the warning track.

Not egregious. Hard to tell if it caught the zone or if it's right on the edge of the zone. I think it's *probably* a ball, and he's missed a few calls. Seiya is probably fed up with the borderlines going against him, thus his reaction.

Cubs need another Polencia arm or two in the pen, just rear back and fire 100s

Yeah I like a guy who gets angry and then the MPH hits 3 digits.

Excellent, Raleigh hit a meaningless HR and the Cubs finally got Solano out.  Is just me or does Solano' swing look really slow?  If so, how in the world does he have 5 hits in two games?

What might be forgotten about today’s game is Horton looked very good. He definitely didn’t deserve the runs he gave up. I am very encouraged by what I have seen from him.

Couldn't agree more. He was solid for the most part but very poor defense knocked him out early. Love what I see from him. I imagine as the year goes on they'll have to limit his innings one way or the other but the fact remains....he looks like the real deal.

Only 3 of Horton's 6 runs were earned, and you could argue that some of the outfield missed catches could have been errors as well
