Of course sweeping the White Sox isn't that big of a brag, but it is something.

Hey, you have to beat the bad teams. Sweeps are not easy against any team. AND the cardinals lost….

Don't know what's more impressive the sweep or winning on Sunday.  It's like the Cubs were baseball' version of the Bears.  Although the Bears are 1-0 on Sunday in 2025.

Probably time to just start Amaya 4 of 5 games now til he starts slumping

I don’t think so. Kelly is still a solid back up. Maybe he drops back in the line up and plays close to half the games. I think the original plan was 90+for Amaya and 70+ for Kelly. They can stick to that plan now.

Cubs now lead the all time regular season series and have retained the Crosstown Cup for another season. Though I can’t remember seeing the players celebrating with the Cup in a couple of years

I get sick, sadistic pleasure In beating the Sox.

It is probably because of their fan base. That is the reason these games mean as much to me as they do, and why I worry so much about them. Dbag Sox fan annoy the hell out of me.

They’re the worst. Their core identity as a fanbase is hating the Cubs and bragging about their big, tough, “Southside”roots from their keyboards in Orland Park, wearing their 59/50 Sox hat backwards with the tags still on.

The Dodgers are about to get swept at home by the Angels, lots of silly horsefeathers can happen in a short weekend series.

I really don’t dislike the White Sox. The only time I feel any animosity is when the fans get annoying

I have always said a good day for a Sox fan was a day the Cubs lose. I have literally been at a bar where thr Cubs game and Sox game were in the tv’s and Sox fans were watching the Cubs game hoping they lost rather than watching the Sox game hoping they won. And this was back around 04’ Sox were two back of the twins and had 3 against the Cubs and then 3 against the twins. I asked the Sox fan if they could go 4-2 in those games which 2 games would you want to lose. He said the Twins games because he would want to sweep the Cubs. And I really think that is a lot of that fanbase POV.

Sweeping series in mlb is very difficult . Cubs haven’t swept one since the A’s . Would imagine Nicky Lopez will be dfa tomorrow to make room for Shaw .

Also read that the Cubs are monitoring Ryan McMahon . Hopefully Shaw locks the position this time around .

Yep. It’s literally their core identity. Such pathetic f****. Hope they break their loss record from last year.

Baseball fans hating a certain team to the point of scoreboard watching that team more than your own must be an exhausting thing to do every year. More so than in any other sport where there are a lot fewer games.

After I told that story I had to look back to see if my memory was correct. It was. Both teams were in the race and the Cubs had the Cardinals between 2 Sox series.
I also had a Sox fan call me after the Cubs lost in 84 playoffs.  This was a year after the Sox went to the playoffs and when they lost I didn’t say a word. From that point on I realized how miserable that fan base was. Which is why I enjoy beating the Sox much more than I should, and hate losing to them much more than I should.

As much as I loathe the White Sox.  I also like some of the White Sox' young talent, think they did well in Crochet and Freede deals - Meidroth, Braden Montgomery, I'd trade Shaw for Vargas right now.  Like all three of their starting pitchers over the weekend, the catcher, Quero, looks like a keeper as well, add Elko, they've got a base that could be good.

You can’t even send this to a White Sox fan

Because they are always horsefeathers. No middle ground.

Well this is certainly a take. I know Vargas has had a good month, but damn.....

That Schultz kid they have will be insane in a few years.  Pride of Naperville.

I don't hate the White Sox as much as I hate the people that are associated with that organization.  Jerry Reinsdorf is the worst owner in baseball and a POS..
