Turner has a 288 / 338 / 424 againts lefties for the entire year . Good for a 114 wrc . If he is used exclusively againts lefties , I have no problems with him .

Hevis just the fans punching bag because people want Busch to play , even againts terrible matchups ( Crochet for example ).

I like to see the Cubs add 2 bench bats if they can’t get Suarez ( Willy Castro and an OF that hits lefties and can handle CF ) Cut both Brujan and Berti .

If they are looking for guys to mash lefties only for the bench , then Amed Rosario is a good option and shouldn’t cost much

I want Busch hitting 5th again. He gives Suzuki and PCA more protection and there’ll be less solo shots with him putting pitches over the fence with runners on.

Don't make too much out of the KC series. It was a let-down series after Boston. The same thing happened after the St. Louis series.  It's hard to maintain the energy and concentration during 162 games.

This is a contending team that's going to get measurably better when Assad, Tallion, and Amaya get back to the team. That's without any additions from the trade deadline.

They can match up with anyone.

It's also worth remembering this team is 6.5 games up in the Wild Card (2 ahead of the Phillies, 5 ahead of the Padres), and it took the Brewers going on an ungodly heater to knock them out of the division lead in the Central.

They need depth and a starting pitcher, but this is a very good team as is.

Not worth it's own thread, but worth noting.  Since May 1, Justin Turner is hitting .319/.340/.511 for a 136 wRC+ against LHP

The old man just needed time to warm up the body.

Season flow status: Better! It Feels Better!

Not better. Just slightly less bad.

The good news is the 2032 Cubs remain in tact. Thanks Carter Hawkins, you are as inept as PTR and Jed.

PTR is the most inept because he hired Jed who then hired Hawkins.

Agree. This kind of confirms the saying “fish gets rotten from the head down”.  Ownership being the head this is a perfect example of that saying.

Cubs have run out of gas. I'm not sure what can be done.

Having the worst bench in baseball forced Counsell to run most of the starters out there every single day.

The Cubs are going to pull an Orioles aren't they? Not get swept all year long and then get swept in the playoffs. Of course it's more likely the Cubs get swept since we'll likely be in a best-of-3 series while the Orioles were swept in a best-of-5.

Yes, grim times as the season winds down. I want to think Jed is learning his lessons, but I think he and the Ricketts kids are the poster children for mediocre White people.

Completely random post that doesn't deserve it's own thread:

Is anyone else bothered by the Cubs' PA announcer?  I attend quite a few games, and this season especially his voice (the intonation specifically) has started to become extremely grating to me.  I can't say that I have every really paid much attention to PA announcers, until now that is.  I have really just started to get bothered by hearing the same reads with the same exact intonation over and over again.

You can tell me I'm crazy.  I almost certainly am.
