God I want to see so many players gone this off-season. I know it's not possible to cut everyone, but we could cut as many as it is mathematically viable to do so under the cap.

This team needs a tear down and rebuild except, you know, build immediately instead of tanking for three years

Yeah I don't agree with whatever person has said Odunze has been a disappointment. I think he's been really good for a rookie on the whole. Moore, on the other hand, hasn't been awesome. Kmet has completely disappeared, and I don't know how much that has to do with him or with the play design. Relying so much on Keenan Allen who absolutely wont be here next year is also worrisome.

Did someone kill Tyler Scott? Whatever happened to that guy?

There's been too much going on to even notice Odunze that much. He's had some great td catches.

Tyler Scott is just buried on the depth chart.  They don't like him for whatever reason. I don't have a strong opinion on if they're right or not.

I still don't love our WR room long term. Allen can go away after this season.  Dj Moore is speed running the Allen Robinson late 20s decline phase.

If there was a receiver we really liked in an early round next year, I wouldn't hate it

Did you miss the Bagent to Scott completion at the end of the game?? (I assume almost everyone did)

Hire the best offensive minded head coach who will have us

Spend as much money on the offensive line as you can in free agency.   Go 25% higher than anyone else will on Trey Smith if he's willing to come here.

Don't be afraid to spend money on a TE to pair with Kmet either.  Or a mid-tier WR.

Draft OT in the first, and then your next three picks some combination of RB/OL/WR.

Forget defense exists until shortly before camps open. Hold open tryouts for league minimum.

Turn every game into the Lions/Bills game from last week. Throw for 6000 yards while going 10-7

I haven't looked at the draft much but assuming Bears pick at #10ish would a trade downs make sense to make sure you best address the 36 holes this team has?

It's very telling if this team really needs to trade down to accumulate more picks. It's why Poles has to be a dead man walking.

Back to the game.....I got such a chuckle at Aikman being concerned the Bears used up all of their time outs. The Bears scored 6 points in 3 and a half quarters, but they should have been conserving time outs so they could put 20 on the board in the last half of the last quarter? Then there was the stupid comment about how Poles has done a great job with the roster. Haha!

I think Odunze is better than this team has allowed him to be. He's getting more separation from his defenders, and much quicker. For some reason, he isn't a primary target. He was wide open in the middle of the field where he could easily be seen by the QB, but the ball goes flying in some other direction time and time again.

I'm  fairly certain Kliff Kingsbury, Joe Brady or Ben Johnson would notice.

This team does not need depth. They need blue chippers. Depth is not the issue. They can hang with teams. They just can’t finish or make impactful plays.

this has been bugging me so i looked it up, we haven't converted a 1st down on 1st and 10 in 3 games (since the last vikings game) when the game was within one score

You’re saying this because Swift did it last night, right? Didn’t read the whole thread so I’m assuming that’s what prompted this post.

Just get the Texas Longhorns’ LT

64 Rec, 956 YDS, 14.9 YPR, 8 TD

90 Rec, 901 YDS, 10.0 YPR, 4 TD

47 Rec, 687 YDS, 14.6 YPR, 7 TD

47 Rec, 624 YDS, 13.3 YPR, 3 TD

44 Rec, 494 YDS, 11.2 YPR, 4 TD

Those are the stat lines for the first 5 WR's picked in last year's draft. It's clear that the first two are the #1 WR's on their team, while the rest are slotted in as #2 or #3.

Unless you're a fantasy football person who digs into stats every day, most of us probably couldn't guess the order

There's no question Williams to Odunze will be a thing IF the Bears stumble upon the right coaches.  Rome has the potential to be receiver everyone fears, talks about, etc. better than St. Brown or anyone else on the Lions, better than anyone on the Packers, better than anyone beyond Jefferson on the Vikings. The ingredients are there just need the right chef.

When he started going on about how Poles put together a good roster as Caleb was running for his life and Darold having cup of coffee surveying the field, I wondered if he went blind. Poles has ignored and/or been incompetent putting together a great OL and DL.  Not much problem with the skill players and LB/DBs, but it starts up front.

Caleb is shell shocked right now.  The protection last night wasn't great, but there were plenty of plays where he had protection and just flat out missed wide open receivers, Rome in particular.  I think he'll be fine but the whole offense is just a mess right now.

I think a lot of it is he's just hearing footsteps now, whether they are there or not. That's always bad when you distrust your line so much, you can't focus on what you are supposed to be focused on.

I'd really like to know why Sweat was called for roughing the passer while that Vikings dickhead who laid out Caleb in front of an official wasn't flagged.  Doesn't matter all much in the game' outcome but, the health of Caleb is the concern.

Yeah, this is the first game Williams started to look like it was taking a toll on him.

Detroit defense should be a bit easier to deal with, their injury list is insane and they're pulling guys off the street.

But boy howdy am I looking forward to seeing our defense against the Detroit offense. It's gonna be majestic.

I think BN said it best, "I'm just tired."

Sports should be fun to watch, at least, and not only are the Bears but they are boring.

Thats a good way to put it.  I've watched almost every Bears game for the last 15 years or so, I've watched them even when awful, I've even gotten excited for primetime games when bad just for the additional national attention, even if I know its likely we'll end up getting embarrassed.  Yesterday was different...wasn't really excited at all leading up to the game and at no point did I enjoy watching any of the game.

I'm just tired of it all and feel very defeated after hyping myself up that at the very least we'd have a decent team that's fun to follow.  It's going to take a lot to get me excited about Bears football next season.  Sure hire another coach and GM, maybe by some stroke of luck they'll actually be good.  But most likely they'll horsefeathers this one up too and even if its Ben Johnson or some other highly regarded offensive mind, I'm sure they'll turn out to be inadequate at leading a locker room, or in game decisions, or something else.  It just feels like we'll never get it right.

He’s been like this for weeks.
