Can we just restrict Tom to the minor league forum and improve everyone's experience vastly in the process?

Honestly, the unhinged takes are bleeding into every single thread lately. It’s obnoxious.

Why don't people put him on ignore? The only time I see his posts are when someone quotes him. Just let him spew into the void.

I honestly don’t know how. I just poked around and couldn’t figure it out. Care to help?

Excellent, thank you. One extra step: unless you go in and select what type of content you wish to ignore (posts, messages, mentions), you’ll still see an ignored user’s posts.

Ooph, I bring out some darkness here eh. Ngl this place turning out to be just a bunch of not Trump conservatives would be pretty funny in a duh sports + internet forums way

We keep the politics in the politics forum. Not every single post has to be about the ills of society. In the baseball/ other sports forums people have the right to want to talk about sports without being constantly bludgeoned with this stuff.

I enjoyed the Olympics very much and was a little sad that they weren't on tonight

I agree.  I wasn't really following any particular event, but it was good background TV viewing for a few weeks.

I go through the post-Olympics depression too.

Idk I thought nobody likes the Olympics and pretty much everything I heard about this year’s events had nothing to do with sports. :don’tknow: Finding out some colonist older than me was competing at breakdancing, is now a joke in pop culture is the most genial thing abt the events that found my ear. My b, woulda thrown that in the politics thread instead sorry gang

Sounds like you too suffer from confirmation bias (your bias being you don't like the Olympics).

As far as I can tell, Paris did a reasonable job with these Olympics. The road events (cycling and marathon) were great, as were the equestrian events - both enhanced by a fantastic backdrop of historic buildings.

They did mess up the "swimming in the Seine" bit - that was a very bad idea from the beginning.

Net results of the controversies will probably be no boxing in LA 2028, which I think would be a pity.

I can't reveal how I know, but boxing will be at the 2028 games.

I'll miss it as well, enjoyed daily programming, well, there's the Winter Olympics coming up in 2026.  One of the sights of the Winter Games is Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy, which, old guys, like me, might recognize as the setting for the first Pink Panther film.

One of the most beautiful places in the world. Salzberg, Lugano, and Cortina are three of my favorite places in Europe.

No. I just love those places and the Alps. If it weren't so damn expensive I'd retire in Switzerland.

I am already looking forward to it. USA men's hockey is starting to close the gap on Canada. Eventually, they are going to win the gold again. May as well be 2026!
