I have been an optimist from the start here. Still feeling really good about landing Sasaki.

I'll catch some heat for this and I don't know if its the glove or lack of positional versatility but I have never been able to fully fall in love with Seiya as a player.

I fully believe the FO believes Shaw will be the third baseman on opening day.

No. Bedard is fine. He's understandably frustrated. He'll work out of it.

FWIW, an email was sent out to STHs offering them a chance to purchase their seats which will be removed this off-season. More Wrigley renovations means more shopping from the bargain bin.

This was expected, but Bedard breaking his stick out of frustration last night sure seemed like the final straw. Luke is by all accounts a tremendous guy and I hope he finds success in his next head coach job.

Alex Vlasic is one of the few really bright spots on this lost season.

Crochet and Sasaki would be a dream off-season for me and both fit within the Cubs budget expectations.

If the Cubs can't gamble with $29 million they have far bigger problems than gambling $29 million.
