Honest question: why would you think that scenario would be even remotely likely in the Olympics?

Yes, how could we possibly question the same IOC who is letting a child rapist participate and various repeat doping offenders.

IMO just a shred of critical thinking still should torpedo "a man beat up on a woman in the Olympic boxing ring" in an instant regardless of the stuff listed because none of them are even remotely similar to that scenario.

Granted I knew it was BS because I first saw it from Ted Cruzs twitter, but I've also been totally primed to totally assume any type of sex/gender outrage being manufactured.  Maybe 10% of the time it isn't completely falsely manufactured and the rest of the time they're literally just tearing down any woman with visible muscles.

Imagine being a boxer and stopping your fight IN THE OLYMPICS because "the other person is hitting me too hard" and then not immediately shriveling up and imploding out of existence due to sheer embarrassment.

OK, now I've swung back to this since she pretty obviously horsefeathers sucks as a person.

What else happened?

She's a cop who's buddy-buddy with the Far Right horsefeatherss running Italy, and now that her comments during the match have been sorted it makes her look bad (immediately saying it was all unfair and should be reviewed).

And Khelif's upcoming Hungarian opponent is posting garbage like this:

These people are horsefeathers trash who will grift at the drop of a horsefeathers hat.

Kristen Faulkner ended a 40-year American drought in the women's cycling road race. She made her move with about 3 km to go and just blew away from the lead group to take the gold.

That was a very smart move - she knew Vos and Kopecky would inevitably look at eachother before countering.

Bol was unbelievable.

Great last swim session.

it's amazing Finke completed 15 laps in 14.5 minutes, think it would take me 15 minutes to do 50m.

.005 separating gold and silver and .08 separating gold from 6th.  That was an insane race.

I'm excited to see what happens in the men's 1500 with all 3 Americans making the final.

The women's 100m was the one event I was looking forward to most before the games began since Sha'Carri didn't get to participate in it last Olympics. The field was set to be loaded and then all three Jamaican girls who medaled in Tokyo pulled out one by one. Add to it that this was likely Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce's final Olympics and it's just a bummer. She has been one of my favorite Olympic athletes since I first watched her compete in 2008.

The balance beam finals were borderline goofy, it feels like I saw more falls off the beam between the Team and the individual finals than I'd seen in the last 5 Olympics combined.  Someone fell off the beam and still got a medal!

Blanka Vas was the one that countered and brought them to within a couple of bike lenghts - when she signalled for one of the others to take over to close the remaining gap, Vos and Kopecky just looked at eachother, and Faulkner was away. Again, smart racing from her and a well deserved gold.

That was wild. Like grade school when the one kid in class throws up and everybody smells it and it sets off the chain reaction of vomiting.
