I know the consensus is that Jed is safe and is playing the exact role that the Ricketts family wants, but there are really no excuses for him.  This is absolutely the type of season that gets a GM fired if it continues on its current trajectory.

Cubs continue to play bad baseball. They have to do something about the sloppy play. Losing is one thing, giving up runs with sloppy play is another. I was not too fond of Ross's decisions, but they often didn't play sloppy baseball under him.

jed was sad he couldn't sell last season, this season he might get his wish

Cubs are now 206-233 since Jed's "retool not a rebuild" began.  We're in the 4th year of that retool.

In the 4th year of "we're going to lose on purpose and not apologize for it" gut rebuild, Theo's Cubs won 97 games and made the NLCS.
