The 2023 season still has a game to go and you already know that no QB in the 2025 draft will be close to what Williams and Maye are? LOL

The thing is, the QB is so important and sought after that the top prospects are pretty well known well in advance. Like we new last year Caleb Williams and Drake Maye would be 1-2. We knew Trevor Lawrence would be QB1 in his class. We knew Bryce Young would be in the #1 pick conversation after his Heisman season. Same with Jameis in that year.

And there are definitely guys that come out of nowhere like Joe Burrow and Kyler Murray and are consensus #1 picks.

But those guys that come out of nowhere aren't going to be considered as good of prospects as Williams/Maye unless they put up a near perfect season like Burrow. Even if they do, Williams and Maye put up great numbers/film for 3 years. No ebbs and flows in their games with 3 years as starters without severe nitpicking.

All QBs in the 2025 draft will be either underclassmen who weren't eligible to come out this year or QBs that could come out but didn't because they aren't as good as Williams/Maye from a prospect level. Like I said, someone could take a huge step forward, but they will still be behind QBs that were at this point as freshman Power 5 starters.

There is already talk that Jayden Daniels is going top 5 and could leap both Maye and Williams. Unrelated,  but with Amarius Mims declaring,  my God is the draft loaded at tackle.

there would have to be something really unexpected to happen at the combine for that prediction to come true.

I have not watched it as I'm kind of over the detailed QB breakdowns for our current QB but based the comments on the Fields breakdown video O'Sullivan did, it doesn't sound like he was as positive about the performance against ATL as many thought coming out of the game.

I think DJ Moore should have been a Pro Bowl starter, but I can understand if his numbers don't match up with the top flight receivers in the NFC.

Still to do what he did with 4 games of a rookie backup QB and 12 additional games of...at times inconsistent QB play is remarkable.

I think he'll make it once the Super Bowl receivers are replaced or someone is injured and can't go. There might be less of that now that they are playing flag football though.

Haha, I've had the same experience with the QB Gurus. Earlier in the season I eagerly awaited their breakdowns of Fields's games...and now I'm like. Eh who cares. I know what I saw (he was good, or bad).

The same JT O'Sullivan who laughs every time he calls Moore a WR #1. I watched the first 45 minutes and it's so ridiculously nitpicked, plus he clearly didn't watch the actual game because he got several things completely wrong.

Watched it as well, don't get his problems with Moore and Kmet both, have put up big time numbers.

I will give him credit for questioning why Fields isn't getting any roughing the passer calls, it's beyond ridiculous, defenders have been given the OK to target Justin.  Being the last game, I'd like to see Eberflus go ape-horsefeathers crazy all Ditka on the officials if Justin absorbs other cheap shot without a call.

I'm seeing a lot of Insider and paywalled articles around the interwebs regarding Eberflus' future come the offseason.  I'm guessing nearly all of them say, "They'll probably keep him, but who knows for sure?"

This game shouldn't be a make or break for anyone on the roster or coaching staff, unless someone literally takes a horsefeathers on the field.  At this point, the front office should know what it has and what it needs to win the Super Bowl, and the decisions about who to keep for 2024 should have been made weeks ago.

My bets:

Eberflus - stays

Getsy - Goes

Fields - I don't have a clue. Not a clue. If it were me, he'd go. He's a backup QB.

Eberflus stays

Getsy stays

Fields goes if Poles/Warren makes the decision, if its Ginny and family he stays

I think

Eberflus stays

Getsy stays

Fields traded

Is the most likely outcome, but I also think its somewhat subject to what happens in the Green Bay game. (A huge win may keep Fields, a huge disastrous loss certifies him going and possibly Getsy)

I hope Fields can show some success against zone coverage.

It's amazing how good he is against man coverage and just as amazing how bad he is against zone.

What is with people's obsession with QBs who do everything but throw the ball the best.

wth are you talking about? 3800 yards and 40 tds

I'm talking about projecting his ability to throw as a pro, not college stats.

He's got inconsistency and accuracy issues.  He's like the 6th best passer in the draft.

Yeah just a guess but I think Fields had very good passing numbers in college too.

I dont think you can tell jack from college numbers. JF had fewer sacks as many TDS as Caleb Williams, and a better rating. Does that mean Caleb is going to suck more?

Are you talking about Josh Allen here?  Or Lamar Jackson?
