What if they do finish 6-11, 7-10 or somewhere in that area, do you draft Harrison or the OS LT 1st? Id be tempted to draft Harrison, then best avail OL/DL later

I mean, it would depend on the Carolina pick. That being #1 changes everything. But if the Bears are in the position to keep Fields and draft a non-QB in the top 5, I'd take one of the blue chip guys. I really don't care what position.

Marvin Harrison Jr- Ohio St, WR

Brock Bowers- Georgia, TE

Olu Fashanu- Penn St, OT

Those are the blue chippers other than Caleb Williams (Maye is debatable) to me. If you get one of those guys, you figure out spots later. Harrison becomes the best #2 in the league. Bowers a big slot and you run 12 personnel all day. Fashanu moves Braxton to guard or swing tackle.

I was puzzled by the Wright pick, but he looks like a bear, swallowing DEs. He’s massive

You were puzzled by a team that started a pair of 5th round guys in their 1st 2 seasons drafting an offensive tackle?

no, Wright just wasnt on my radar as the possible OT. Also, skipping on Carter

at this point, I'd certain Carolinas will be top 3....I hope anyway

If the consensus is that Williams is a "generational" talent (sorry, Kyle), they should draft him and try to trade Fields for what they can get. Then Poles better get serious about getting protection and skill people.

You can get more for the #1 pick than you can get for Fields. So I'd keep Fields and trade that #1 for an absolute haul.

Man it feels good to finally get a W; happy for the guys and Fields especially.

All it took was getting Claypool off this team!  Little worried about Mooney's continued invisibility.  Someone other than DJ Moore is going to have to step up and make some plays for this offense to continue to put points on the board.

Great win, although I was damn nervous for much of that second half they were going to blow it.  Hopefully we can get the RBs healthy on the mini-bye.  I like Roshon Johnson but I'm afraid he's going to continue to concuss himself the way he seeks contact with the ball.  Love the angry running though.

Last night's win improves the Bears record cs Washington to 5-16 since the 85 Super Bowl winner.

Feels like the Bears always lose to these clowns.

What a frustrating night for Mooney. Targeted 4 times and was oddly really close to a 100 yard game. I mean he was beating his man badly and Justin just kept barely missing him.

86 and 87 playoff losses were especially hard. 86 defense was arguably better than 85 and we went 14-2, they were 12-4 and they still beat us. We had the most laughably bad QB situation, sending out 4 QBs that year to throw 12 TDs and 25 picks LOL

Yeah I feel for Mooney. He's struggled through some *bad* QB play in his early career, and he's been dependable and done as much as he can out there. Here's hoping that as defenses will superduper-extra key on DJ Moore (not that they haven't already) it opens up some more opportunities for him.

I feel like the first throw of the game was on Mooney, who got a bit turned around. Maybe the throw was over the wrong shoulder, though.

One of his other targets he was absolutely mauled without drawing the penalty.

Otherwise, yeah, Fields just missed him a couple other times.

Going forward it's going to be throw the ball to Moore, hopefully, at some point, Mooney will be able to take advantage of extra attention that's going to pushed to be Moore.  Over the mini-bye the defenses' adjustment to Fields is going to be trying to take Moore out of the equation.  Doing so should open up running lanes for Fields and the backs along with leaving Mooney, Kmet, Tonyan with favorable match ups.

I don’t think he’s all that great either but I’m gonna give him more than 4 games before I’m declaring him a bust. I think he’s proven that he’s not a complete dud but he’s trending towards being pretty mediocre

That's where I'm at with him as well.

the distribution in the Broncos game was far more balanced. And while neither Mooney nor Kmet were the focal point, it isnt hard to see how either one could be if a D manages to shut Moore down.

Last night, Moore just went supernova

By the way, can we do something about all these high snaps? There were at least a half dozen that almost went over Fields' head, and only by his incredible athleticism did we miss several broken plays

If fields looks exactly like this and you have the number one pick through Carolina, you probably take Williams and wish fields well.

But if he keeps playing like this he keeps his job for anyone short of Williams

Jesus Christ. Thats all we're going to get for Claypool? I had low expectations, but like, a 5th rounder low.

I think I still like Poles's overall vision, but his specific scouting has been.....very spotty

I'm surprised they got anything for him, appears to be a team/locker room cancer.  Might change for a bit in Miami, won't last.  What's really annoying is he's probably going to trash the Bears, all of this was completely on him.  First game dogs it, Eberflus tells him to up the effort, gives him a couple of chances and he still doesn't put forth anything.

I give Poles credit for stepping up and taking ownership of the Claypool trade.  Idea was correct, player was incorrect, next time, as mentioned above, do a better scouting job.

It's hard to imagine a more disastrous outcome from that trade. Gave up a top 2nd rounder, got fewer than 20 catches over the course of roughly a season, is a toxic presence, and then traded for something less than a 6th round pick.

Not great, Ryan!

So the Bears swapped their high 7th round pick for a low 6th round pick.  How much is a 5-10 spot move in the 6th/7th round actually worth?  Not nothing, but pretty close to it.
