At the risk of being overly positive, we just debuted two of our top fifteen-ish prospects in a September series sweep of what was a wild card contender to put our playoff expectancy comfortably in the 90+% range. Hard to argue too much with the big picture here.

So the Cubs have gone 7-3 so far in the 14 game stretch against teams we're competing with for playoff spots.  Not bad at all.

Brewers off tomorrow too so the Cubs can get it to 1 game.  1 GB is important because it allows the winner of the final series of the season to win the division.

I don't care about how reasonable a plan sounds, I care about how it performs in the objective test of competitive major league baseball seasons.. Hoyer not looking half bad by that metric right now

After tomorrow, the Brewers have just one more off day during the season. The Cubs have three.

Some of those Brewers players may be feeling pretty gassed heading into our final series.

First sweep of a 3+ game series since June 19-21 over Pittsburgh which is pretty crazy since we’ve only lost a couple series the past two months.

Watching the Phillies - Padres game right now and Wacha clearly doesn't have his best stuff today. He's been lucky so far, but it's only a matter of time before the Phillies break through against him.
