At the risk of being overly positive, we just debuted two of our top fifteen-ish prospects in a September series sweep of what was a wild card contender to put our playoff expectancy comfortably in the 90+% range. Hard to argue too much with the big picture here.

Cubs within 1.5 games of the Brewers, 1 game of the Phils, and 16 games of the Braves.

Brewers off tomorrow too so the Cubs can get it to 1 game.  1 GB is important because it allows the winner of the final series of the season to win the division.

Cubs can tie in the wins column tomorrow.

I don't care about how reasonable a plan sounds, I care about how it performs in the objective test of competitive major league baseball seasons.. Hoyer not looking half bad by that metric right now

MLB records since July 17:

EDIT: That doesn't include today's win yet, so they're 33-14 since July 17.

That was very similar last year to correct? Great second half?

im just happy to have meaningful games after the way this team looked in April and May.

DBacks are still in the 3rd inning of their game and have a 4 hour flight ahead of them tonight while the Cubs get to chill at home.

After tomorrow, the Brewers have just one more off day during the season. The Cubs have three.

Some of those Brewers players may be feeling pretty gassed heading into our final series.

He ran like a 30% K rate in the minors and came into today with a 29% K rate

Today’s 10/2 GO/AO was pretty excellent

End result was solid. But he needs to miss more bats. He did well to pitch without his best stuff.

It’s like the opposite of 2018 where we had no days off down the stretch. Let’s take that damn division!

Watching the Phillies - Padres game right now and Wacha clearly doesn't have his best stuff today. He's been lucky so far, but it's only a matter of time before the Phillies break through against him.
