I hate this greenberg aggregator clown and normally would post the original source but I'm not sure where Rapaport said it

Who are the Bears thinking about at 32? Would be really interested to see what they'd have to give up to get their own pick back and how it compares to Claypool.  I'm thinking maybe one of the 2nds and that early 3rd.  Seems steep but you are moving up 20 spots in the 2nd round.

i'd like to get adebawore there

i'm sure there are some other 3-tech candidates they might like too.

As someone who was pissed we didn't take Carter (but not that we took Wright), that Athletic grade is obscenely dumb.

Who the hell is Scott Dochterman? (Apparently, a CFB writer for The Athletic, but I was asking rhetorically)

Not I mention, this quote is absurd:

GM Ryan Poles was a former offensive lineman and has tried to rebuild his roster on the O-line first.

I think that Poles and Kahn and trading rumors for each other. "Steelers talking to Bears about trade up to #9 for Jalen Carter"

Now "Bears are talking about trading to 32"

I get the sense that those two get along and are willing to work together to make markets for each other.

Maybe, Schmitz could be a choice too

Stories are leaking now that the Georgia coaching staff were not fans at all of Jalen Carter. They chose to wait until after he was picked to speak out so as not to hurt his draft chances, but I'm sure any GM that called them directly found out just how much they weren't fans. I'm fine with Poles going a different direction.

I just have this image of Jalen Carter destroying dudes like 25% of the time and having complete meltdowns on the field, complete with tears, mumbling incoherently to himself, and shaking uncontrollably the other 75% of the time. kind of like Bobby Boucher, but much worse.

I want Adebawore more than any other player left on the board, but I don't think we have to move that high to get him.

How do we post a poll? I’d be curious to see how many people think the bears will draft a qb in the first round next season. I think the odds are higher than whatever the baseline assumption is. Poles has been so cautious while building this team, and is set up to either draft very early if Fields shits the bed, or at least trade up toward the top if he’s okay but not good enough to overcome a garbage defense.

technically they’ve given Fields the weapons (although rb remains weak), and line help, but they haven’t done what Philly, Jax, or Miami did for their QBs. It’s been measured. I’ve thought the way he ran the first offseason was a huge disservice to Fields. And everything he’s done this offseason leaves open the possibility they go in a new direction as soon as next April.

i don't know about that. i mean, they could go in a new direction in April, but he seems pretty set on providing Fields with immediate weapons and just got him a plug-and-play pass protector. Yes, I'm now a believer. Darnell Wright was the tipping point.

I think last offseason was absolutely a disservice to Fields, though. But Fields somehow survived and electrified crowds.

if we're going with high upside toolsy raw and risky players, I prefer Keion White for some reason, but Adebawore seems ok too

I saw that, too. Umm, what draft were you watching, buddy? Poles really went crazy with the OLine when he grabbed Braxton Jones in the 5th round. I kinda felt like the D- grade was more about ignoring the defense moreso than actually grading the pick itself. I don't think you can give the Wright pick a D- even if he did go possibly 10 spots earlier than projections. I won't be purchasing a subscription to the Athletic anytime soon.

Yeah, fair enough if someone wanted Carter, Jones, Skoronski, Gonzalez, whoever. But it’s not like they drafted a non-premium position like RB or ILB in the top 20. They filled a need at an important position. They might’ve reached a little. Not a D-.

On the other end of the Athletic, Robert Mays, Nate Tice and Dane Brugler were doing their live draft video during the draft. Mays is a noted Bears fan, and here's the video starting from the spot where the Bears pick comes in:
