Yesterday not taking a DT was drafting for need.  Today taking a DT is drafting for need 

 

"Drafting for need" has become the derogatory version of "BPA". It doesn't seem to mean anything

They reached for 2 guys at a position of great need because the GM refused to spend money on free agency and left glaring holes.

Dexter had a high RAS score.  Poles really seems to like players that score high on that (even over production it seems).
