Great managing by Roberts to get Jansen to get those last 2 outs down 4.

Yep. Like you use him then? Not to start the 10th. You let Kelly go his second inning against the heart of the order?

How many times does Kershaw have to fail in the postseason before you don’t use him in relief in a deciding game?

It was an absolutely stupid decision to bring him in (or any starter) when you have actual functioning, good relief pitchers who only need to get 7 outs. That said, Kershaw had 5.2 scoreless playoff relief innings (all in deciding games) before tonight.

Acuna got plunked. Can’t wait to see which Cardinal gets drilled because you know it’s happening.

I’m sure the Braves catching brain trust of McCann, Flowers And Cervelli will make sure cooler heads prevail

I just woke up and I’m having coffee and hanging with my dog and reading this thread and I saw this comment and howled.

Well done, sir

How dumb is Dave Roberts for pitching Kershaw? Reminds me of maddon shoehorning guys in Game 6 and 7.

Maddon tried *so hard* to lose game 7

Lester was fine. Chapman was not. Ross is really lucky for his legacy that we won that game.

He did have a pretty big HR in his last at bat off one of the best relievers in the game at the time so it wasn't like he was completely worthless in Game 7.

Anyone got an idea how the Nats rotation will set up for the NLCS?

Fangraphs has Corbin-Scherzer-Strasburg in their playoff odds right now, but I don't think it's been announced. Wouldn't be surprised if Sanchez gets game one considering Corbin pitched more than an inning out of the pen last night.

Corbin only threw 22 pitches so I bet he starts Game 1. Then you’ve got Scherzer on normal rest in Game 2 and the same for Strasburg in Game 3.

I still can’t believe he left Joe Kelly in for a second inning and then brought in Jansen when they were down 4.

Love seeing the Dodgers lose, but it unfortunately helps the Cardinals next round.

STL is winning anyway, them beating LA would've just made it more infuriating. But maybe Scherzer and Strasburg can Schilling/Johnson their way past somehow.

I have faith in the Nats since, you know, they have a better offense and rotation.

There were several Nats WS picks before the season. As mentioned earlier, they might can pull a Schilling/Johnson all the way to a title.

Cardinals went 5-2 against them this year, including 3 of 4 at home and have home field advantage. With Anibal Sanchez starting game 1. This won't be a cakewalk. Especially since it'll set up where Wainwright only pitches at home.

Cardinals beat Scherzer twice this year.

And the Nats will have the SP edge in pretty much every game this series (or at least a push in the Flaherty game(s)). Sanchez vs Mikolas or whatever non-Flaherty guy is going game one really isn’t a mismatch.
