Offense was like this last year too. The hitting coach has little to do with the struggles right now. It's strictly on the players.

Agree. Not like Duensing is going multiple innings. Just use Zobrist to PH for the pitchers spot when it comes up (which isn’t even guaranteed this next inning).

How does Hicks only strike out 4 per 9? He throws 102.

He pretty much doesn’t have a breaking ball/off speed pitch to get guys off the FB and I think his FB also has little movement or deception. 100+ is impressive but if guys know it’s coming and don’t have to worry about a breaking pitch he’s not going to K a lot of guys.

The only reason I can think of is they want him working with Davis or someone on the major league coaching staff everyday. But if that’s the case just make up a 10 day DL injury to keep him around working on horsefeathers and replace him with Bote.

Morrow hasn’t been able to throw a decent breaking pitch most of the year, seems to be trying to work one in a little more so hopefully it’s just a feel thing and matter of time
