Is it possible those teeth(as seen on the players backs in the schedule above and its the Bears new twitter avatar) are a new alt logo? Maybe replacing the cursive B since they are dropping the 40s throwbacks? Not really a fan if that's the case.

Weird, 2 prime time games to start the season and then nothing the rest of the way. Not that I expected a lot of prime time games.

Last 4 looks pretty tough depending on how good you think SF will be

Initial reaction is have to be at, at least 5 and likely 6 wins through that week 10 game vs Detroit for any playoff hopes with the finish.

-Get the Lions twice in 11 days. Thanksgiving could be rough coming off a divisional game against one of the most hard hitting D's in the league.

-Believe this is the 7th straight years with a primetime game AT Green Bay

-2nd straight year ending the season in Minnesota.

-Long trip to Arizona after a Monday night game sucks.

-If the Bears are going to do anything this year, the key stretch is after the BYE. Winnable game at Miami before 4 of 5 at home, even though 2 are vs. 2017 final 4 teams.

-A good start would be nice as I think Week 1 is the best time to get GB. I don't think Seattle will be a playoff team this year. Arizona is rebuilding. Tampa still hasn't taken the next step.

Not sure a 3.5 hour flight is anything meaningful

Todd McShay put out a draft buzz article this morning, and it has got some interesting tidbits in it.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2018/insider/story/_/id/23290452/todd-mcshay-2018-nfl-draft-buzz-everything-hearing-top-prospects-teams-picks

-Browns are taking a QB at 1, increasingly looking like Allen

-Giants are NOT planning on trading down. Sounds like they want Darnold if he's there, otherwise one of Barkley/Chubb

-Jets are taking a QB (duh), sounds like Darnold is their top choice

-Browns are taking Barkley/Chubb at 4, people aren't sure who they'd take if both are available

-Broncos like Chubb and Mayfield, and will likely trade back if both are gone

-No notes on the Colts

-"[Derwin] James going to Tampa Bay seems like the worst-kept secret in the NFL right now."

And then here is his blurb on the Bears

Chicago Bears (8)

They're in a good spot. If one of the four QBs is available here, this is probably when we'll see a QB-needy team (Buffalo, Arizona, etc.) move up. If not, Chicago needs a guard, CB and several other positions. The Bears could wind up with one of the top three players in this draft at No. 8 if Nelson is the pick.

Taken all together, it makes it look like Nelson will make it to the Bears unless the Colts take him. If only 3 QBs go before the Bears pick, which looks increasingly unlikely, the Bears will look to trade back.

I'm really hoping we trade down. I'm perfectly fine with any of Nelson, Edmonds, Ward, Fitzpatrick, Smith, Jackson, Davenport, or Landry. Those last 3 could/should be around in the middle of the 1st. I've even seen Landry last until the 2nd in a few mocks.

If that's remotely possible, I'd be beyond thrilled with Nelson and Landry, with our top 2 picks.

So Pace said there are 8 Guys that they would be happy to take when they pick, with presumably none of them being QB's it would seem at least one of them should be available till mid first round.

I feel like a big surprise in store for the Bears tonight. I dont think they'll trade down, and I think they're gonna take someone that most believe they could have still had in a trade down scenario.

Also, every draft day, this should be required reading

Let's see if the Browns eff it up or not.

Coincidentally, Matt Miller says we might take McGlinchey at 8 if Nelson is gone. That's a guy who should go in the teens or early 20's.

That being said, there is a lot of talk that Pace wants to recoup the 3rd he lost in the Trubisky trade. And if Nelson is gone at 8, there are at least a half dozen defensible choices, which would lend itself to trading down a few spots.

Posted
Obviously the Pace sample size is still pretty small, but he talks about conviction way too much to have me convinced a trade down will happen. Maybe if the QB board gets crazy and it's just a steal, but they did at least recoup a 4th already so they have a "full" 7 pick draft... not like they are looking at a 4 man draft class. And unless a real strong guy drops to 39 like when Goldman fell, Pace has a history of recouping picks in Rd 2.

Apparently Josh Allen has joined the line of public figures with a VERY regrettable twitter history... We'll see how it effects his stock tonight, I suppose. But that might be one less QB picked before 8, which is a bummer.

Along those lines, my buddy was thinking they may take Harold Landry with the 8th pick.

PFF did their mock and have the Bears going Landry, with Chubb still on the board, no less. That was a "what would I do" mock and not a prediction though.

What was their line of reasoning for taking Landry over Chubb? Pace may really want a pass rusher, but if Chubb is there he's taking him.
