It will be interesting to see if this pushes us into Ridley

I'm damn near positive the Bears will match.

welp, nevermind

wonder if this says anything about how his recovery is going

Was Robinson's injury that much less severe?

Torn ACL only...and according to reports I pulled up from when the injury happened, it was considered a good sign how quickly Robinson was able to have the knee operated on, which was the next day.

I think in Meredith's case, he had his a week or two after the injury.

Just coming here to discuss this. Does this (combined with the Sutton interview) suggest a trade down-draft WR scenario?

I'm sad about Meredith taking a walk, but if the Saints rescind their offer to Willie Snead, I would hope the Bears have interest in him. The Saints already have Ted Ginn and Michael Thomas. I'd really rather not see them have to spend early on a WR in the draft when they already signed two guys via free agency. Kevin White needs someone to battle for playing time.

I think this leads to a trade down. We've got legit needs for an edge rusher, a wide out, and an offensive lineman. Not to mention, its conceivable they could take a DB early too.

I guess there's still some vets you can sign, but if we're counting on draft picks to play, I'd like to see us have 3rd rounders or better at each of those spots.

Not sure I'd like trading down this far, but 8 and 115 for 23,31, and 95 is in the vicinity from the outdated trade value chart.....

It'd give us 4 picks in the top 95 and you'd still have an early 4th too, to navigate with somewhat.

Well this sucks.

Cohen is WR 3 right now.

I don't like the way Pace played this (at all) but I have no issue with Cohen at WR. He runs great routes, possibly has the best hands on the team, is amazing in space, and I'd rather pair someone else with Howard in the backfield. I think he will play the Tyreek Hill role to a T.

My issue isn't with him playing WR, but he's also our RB2. Together that's almost a full time player with bad depth behind both spots.

They need some skill player upgrades and their line is also pretty shaky with bad depth.

It looks like trading with the Bills for 22, 53, and 56 would be about right as well.

I really want Quenton Nelson, but I wouldn't be surprised if getting someone like Will Hernandez plus two more picks is a lot better from a sabermetric (is it still called that when we're talking football?) perspective.

All of this has to be more the Bears uncomfortable with Meredith’s injury but ok with Whites recovery. I hope they know what we don’t know

I dont think (maybe false hope) this has anything to do with White. He's like an old pool table in the basement you just haven't gotten rid of because it's more a pain to move it up the stairs than the extra space is worth. That should be the attitude anyways.

If they draft Nelson at 8, its exactly what I stated.

How does drafting Nelson at 8 validate that?

Because it validates willing to go into the season with White

Im not sure I agree, i’m not trying to argue, its just seems like an obvious observation. Meredith has deeply outplayed White in their careers, why would you gamble otherwise?
