it's not that i can't see a team giving stanton something along the lines of 7/208 at that point...it's that i don't see how much more upside there'd be beyond that for it to be worth the risk for him.

a lot obv depends on how things play out between now and then. the sport will continue to be flush with money and only one real place to spend it.

What kind of life must one have to impersonate a baseball writer on twitter and write fake stories. Seriously?

The opposite model might be that of Milwaukee’s division rival, the Chicago Cubs: an expected favorite to whom Doyle gives a disappointingly low World Series probability. The defending champs are having a well-documented down year, and although they’re talented enough to have decent title odds if they make the playoffs, that’s far from guaranteed no matter what deadline moves they make. As a result, their 0.66 Doyle suggests they should lean toward punting on this season.

Idiocy.

New rumblings that the trade is with the Yankees instead of the Red Sox.

Blake Rutherford, Ian Clarkin, Clippard and a 4th player the rumored package heading back to the White Sox.

Awfully nice of the Sox to trade away all their good players before playing us next week.

I was going to be all like "they didn't; they traded Frazier" then I realized how bad their roster really is

They have some OK bats in Abreu, Garcia, and Cabrera, but that pitching makes the 2012-2014 Cubs look like the Braves of the 90's.

I was at the Sox game last night with a few Sox fan friends, and we came to the conclusion that there isn't a single player on their roster we'd trade straight up for Javy Baez, who is like our 9th most valuable player.

Edit: This was before the Moncada call up.

Is there much difference between McKinney and Rutherford? Rutherford gets a 45 on his future speed and I highly doubt he'll be a quality MLB CF, so without power he looks like a 4th OF.

And he also gets a 50 on his defense and a 45 on his arm. This guy looks wholly overrated.

yeah, not that i think it's a bad trade, necessarily, because he obviously carries some value according to prospect writers, but it sounds like he profiles as a LF, and he really hasn't shown the power to be an everyday LF.
