wtf? There's literally no news about Fowler anywhere, where did he get that information?

Also I wish he did sign with the Rockies so we would've gotten the 11th pick.

We wouldn't have gotten the 11th pick.

And he probably either had Fowler on the brain for some other reason or just got mixed up because they both did the one year bet on selves contracts.

I know we wouldn't have gotten it with Desmond in the fold, but even if Desmond didn't sign would we still not have gotten the 11th pick?

No. In the hypothetical/error Nightengale tweet scenario of the Rockies signing Fowler..... The Rockies lose the 11th pick and we get a compensation pick somewhere between like picks 25-35.

He meant Desmond and put Fowler by mistake. He corrected himself in the next tweet but inexplicably left this tweet out there to get mocked.

Wait. Don't the picks always come after the first round and not during?

They come at the end of the first, before the first Competitive Balance Rounds. Here's how last years draft looked to give you a visual. http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/16020441/complete-order

You're forgetting to remove the teams that forfeit their first.

the first round gets shorter when people start losing their picks

Even with Wade Davis on the team I think we need at least another bullpen arm. With guys on our team coming off injuries I think we need to pick up some guys who can pitch multiple innings. What about resigning Travis Wood he checks off all the boxes and Joe clearly loves Travis.

Only if he pitches shirtless.

Let's wait and make sure Travis makes it through deer season without an accident

Although he also is an injury guy, I like Tim's idea of getting Holland. Let's put together the original Bullpen Of Doom.

I could get behind that move as well.

Randy Myers, Norm Charlton, and Rob Dibble? That was the best threesome (in baseball bullpen-speak) I have ever seen.

Chapman back to the Yankees. 5/86.

I'd have been perfectly fine with him back for that or even 5/95 if that's what it took

I'd have rather given Brian Schlitter 5/95 than Chapman.

Maybe someone can convince me it's smart, but I am absolutely opposed to giving out 5-year contracts to a closer, much less for $90m or whatever.
