Praise Jebus that I have to work until late tonight and also tomorrow morning. It won't keep my attention off this, but it'll be a distraction at least.

BOO OFF DAYS

Dude I don't know, maybe I'm just lame but I need a day off to savor the last 2 wins and prepare for tomorrow. My stomach has not allowed me to eat or digest food properly since the last off day. Need to recoup.

Plus a Saturday game is much more enjoyable than Friday. I can get there early and soak up the scene before finding a bar to watch the game.

yeah, this off day is perfectly timed. Go half-ass it at work, go check out a movie, spend all day tomorrow doing yard work and then fire up the grill for game 6. if that fails, rinse repeat on sunday. This is the best case scenario

So where are the general standing room only tickets good for? Obviously the bleacher SRO are behind the bleachers but where are the regular SRO?

Basically behind the Terrace Reserved sections (200's) get there early if you want to be as close to home plate as possible.

Read this or not, your call, but Brisbee is probably the best of the folks that currently write about baseball. He goes through all of the villains, minor and major, before laying blame for '03 Game 6. Since he gives it away from the beginning, I'll tell you, he does not blame Bartman. Instead of the Bartman Game, he proposes renaming it thusly: GLTHOWAYDAhhhhhhh

For example:

RadioShack’s incompetence probably wasn’t responsible for the Cubs’ demise through osmosis, but it’s at least worth considering.

It's basically between the dugouts at the back of terrace reserved. You are going to have a huge overhang blocking the sky but depending on pole positioning you should have a solid view of the entire field. Get there early though and lock in a spot, I can't stress that enough. Also unless you are standing next to someone who is cool, be prepared to not leave the spot because people will quickly jump in and take it.

If that happens, you still have access to anywhere in the park (besides the bleachers), if you don't mind being on the move, the last time I had SRO, I spent probably 3-4 innings just walking back and forth between the lower and upper concourse watching the game as I walked back and forth.

Ok. Haven't bought anything yet. My plan was to go to a bar outside of Wrigley and check the online sites after the game had started in the hopes that prices would drop a bit. Not really counting on it but in case I do pull the trigger, I wanted to know where I'd be standing. I don't really mind walking around and I'm 6-8 so I don't have to worry about other people blocking my view.

don't the online sites shutdown after the game starts?

I was thinking the same thing. I really don't think prices will drop all that much before game time. I tried to go to opening night last year and it was a pretty high demand game, and the scalpers wouldnt budge even in the 3rd or 4th inning. I've had plenty of experience negotiating with scalpers, these dudes didnt even flinch when you started to walk away. For this game, if the Cubs take a lead early, you will have have a very hard time because people will scoop up tickets in the 5th or 6th inning just so that they can be in the part for a clinching. Definitely worth trying but I'm not sure how successful you will be. Good luck.

I just want to remind anyone that's worried that the Dodgers are 8-9 in the playoffs when Kershaw pitches, 4-9 before this year. I don't think anyone is necessarily thinking this, but just a reminder that Kershaw does not equal Cubs loss. We've got this.

tbh, I feel like we made far better contact against Kershaw than Hill, but I was drunk for both so who knows if I know anything at all.

I love Grant, and I saw that that article exists, but I won't read it. I'm done with that game. There is no more information that I need about it. I'm purging it from my brain.

first baseman Adrian Gonzalez considered what he expects Wrigley Field to be like for Game 6 of the National League Championship Series against the Cubs.

He unwittingly issued a challenge to Cubs fans.

"The same (atmosphere) we had in Game 1 and 2," Gonzalez said. "They can't put any more people in the stands. They can only put in so many people."

"They can't cheer any louder," Gonzalez said. "It's not like it's a loud stadium to begin with. They're going to try their best, and we're going to tune them out like we always do."

If there's anything I've taken away about the Dodgers from this series, it's that Adrian Gonzalez seems like a bit of an asshat.

He's saying that there was no chance for a DP on Gonzalez's error? Am I remembering that incorrectly? I thought that was a tailor made double play ball.

The play (11:50 in the above video) wasn’t a tricky hop. It wasn’t hit hard at all. There was no chance for a double play, so it wasn’t rushed. It was just the purest of boots, a play that Jon Lester could have made with his glove on the wrong hand.

So is my pitching math correct here, assuming Lester never comes out of the pen, or pitches minimally in game 7 as a 'throw day' and doesn't mess up his rest

Cubs win Game 6

WS

1 - Lester

2 - Arrieta

3 - Hendricks

4 - Lackey

Cubs lose both, heroin time

Gametime and Seatgeek allow you to keep buying tickets an hour into the game.

I've never understood why they NEVER replay a gonz's double play butchery. Like ever.

Right?! As soon as some noob spouts off about Bartman like they know some history, I quickly school them about Agony being the goat. You pay a guy $5.5 M and he gets handcuffed by a routine DP ball at a crucial moment?! And that bastard NEVER apologized for it, either.

Second place goes to Dusty and Rothschild, who apparently had their bums superglued to the bench while Prior imploded.

The thing about that team, is that I don't recall it having a lot of leaders. Sammy was always pretty much for Sammy, Alou showed his prima donna tendencies, and poor Kerry had to take it all on his shoulders. I mean, if Mark Grace had still been playing and a Cub, he would have called the IF in, told a crass joke, and Prior would have gotten out of the inning. And then once they all got into the dugout, Grace would have threatened Alou and Agony within an inch of their lives against behaving like such jerks again.

Yeah, I never expected him to be the obligatory guy I'd end up thinking was an annoying douche who I now hate.

No reasoning behind it but I feel good about Saturday. I think the Cubs score just enough to get the job done and I do irreversible damage to my liver.

I fear for Wrigley's structural integrity a bit, should the Cubs get that NLCS-clinching W. Need to keep her standing if they get to the WS!

The past 10 times I read that post, I thought there was some terribly hilarious play Adrian Gonzalez had made that they should be showing.

Had literally NO idea people were talking about 2003. I probably should've, but I didn't.
