Even fangraphs, which is slobbing on knob of the Dodgers this postseason, has us as no worse than 43.8% odds to win the game. And thats presumably without factoring in Hendricks's ability to limit hard contact.

This is now the third time I've seen the Cubs reach this point: one single solitary win from a pennant, and a shot at the Series. Each time, never thought it would end when it did, nor take as long to climb back. There's probably few on this board who can remember a Cubs pennant, and vanishingly few anywhere who've actually SEEN the Cubs in the WS.

So this team is on the cusp of something WE have literally never seen. Amazing to think that tomorrow or Monday we could wake up, and that all will have changed.

Tonight is a challenge, obviously, but I think this Cubs team is up to it. Seeing Kershaw a second time hopefully helps, and some of the batted ball (un)luck in game 2 evens out. As Schwarber said yesterday, pitchers are human, not robots. Also takes the focus off "omg game 6, curses, etc" and on "we need to figure out Kershaw."

I expect another tight one, Hendricks quietly matching Kershaw. The game hinges on a Roberts decision to let Kershaw bat with RISP to keep him In the game--Buck: "decision time if you're Dave Roberts..." But LA gets nothing, and the Cubs rally in the bottom half off a tired CK to take the lead and close the scoring.

Go CUBS! (For Fred!)

In real time I thought Rizzo was pissed Javy did that.

This is what I thought of when it happened:

It also helps slow the game down when you’re able to do stuff like that. I used to yell at Addison Russell when he was next to me playing second. He’d get a pop-up, and I’d be in his ear like, “Don’t drop it!

I cracked up when javy and rizzo had that exchange, but I thought javy grabbed rizzo's ass when I first watched it happen.

My favorite thing on the entire planet is when javy makes a crazy play that leaves him on the ground and rizzo throws it to him on a one hop to toss it around.

All this talk about dongs and/or CK. I'll take a different path.

Kyle Hendricks is the sh!t!. He basically shut the Dodgers down last time out. Was a little shaky with the strike zone, but he have up only 3 hits and 1 run on a wind blown HR. The Dodgers don't want to face this guy. They had horrible swings last week, and it will be more of the same tonight. They won't know if the should look inside, outside, up or down in the zone. They're gonna be swinging at change ups dropping below their knees and getting frozen by 89-91mph heaters on either side of the strike zone. Go ahead Dodgertown, fill your lineup with lefties. It won't matter. Kyle will keep everyone off balance.

Tonight will be about Kyle, not kershaw!

They just mentioned on The Score that the Dodgers haven't played a game in under 55 degree weather this year. May or may not be a factor.

Never read that until now. God, I love this team.
