I love this plotline so much because of how deluded it is. Yes, please do cartwheels off first base and see how little Lester cares, and then either try your luck at stealing a base(runners have a 31% CS% on Lester, which is slightly better than the average pitcher) or at getting picked the horsefeathers off by Ross(8 in less than 70 games). Goons.

There's also the whole "if they get on first base" thing. Good luck with that.

Joc Pederson plans on bunting to get around that problem. Never mind that bunting a 91 mph cutter to 3B so that Lester alone fields it isn't any easier than hitting a line drive(well, maybe for Pederson...), but Joc already tried and failed at this in Game 1.

By contrast, when the Cubs get on base, they plan to score.

Cubs won't be on base either. They'll be in the dugout, celebrating all their dongs.

If it's so damn easy to steal on Lester, why bother planning for it?

Brand new information, they found out yesterday that Lester doesn't throw to first. What an ace up their sleeve!

I quit smoking nearly 8 years ago and my anxiety level for this game has almost made me have a craving which is something I haven't experienced in many years.

SCORE EARLY!

I have a feeling the Dodgers will hit Lester better than they did in game 1. I could see 3-4 runs from them. Cubs offense? Really not sure, could be good, could be bad. Very streaky.

So those of you who think hot and cold streaks are real like at least semi-tangible things, do you honestly feel better about Rizzo and Russell's chances to do good things tonight?

Just curious.

Seems like a pretty crazy thing to question. If you look at a trend of anything there are going to be peaks and valleys. Russell's current cold streak goes back through September. Acknowledging that streaks are real doesn't mean you believe you can project future results purely based on historical results though.

I'd think most cold streaks are the result of some approach and/or swing mechanics issues. Rizzo had been swinging at junk and not hitting the ball with authority when he got inside fastballs. And he's still not going to the opposite field. But yeah I think he's got his confidence back and with it seemed to come his approach last night.

Russell hit that laser to right in game 2 and I thought he was close to coming out of it, just because I think going the other way is a good way to get your timing back. Then he put some good swings on all night and his confidence is back.

So for me, I think the mental aspect of streaks is real and that the guys are all feeling it. So I anticipate good ABs tonight and going forward. From those two guys in particular and from most of the team. Having Maeda on the mound instead of Kershaw will hopefully help em prove my theory.

And with horsefeathersload of boring words I'm off to watch the game. Go Cubs!

My view is still better than Fox centerfield camera at Wrigley.

May the hardest hit ball by the Dodgers be a foul ball to Raisin!

The site was a little pokey at the time so I might have accidentally registered a 6 hour suspension instead of something more permanent.

No need to apologize. I just think it's hilarious he posted something semi-bannable again to appease the masses.
