I demand greatness and will not settle for coddling mediocrity. You can take your sorry team filled with nothing but Coghlans and La Stellas and stuff 'em in a sack.

I have MLB.tv, but the problem is that I have no "supported pay tv provider". I suppose that if it comes down to it, I could just use a vpn to trick MLB.tv into thinking I'm international.

I recall reading somewhere that regular MLB.tv premium will allow you to watch postseason games live, so long as they are being broadcast by MLB Network. We'll see, I guess.

I'm a little worried that this is what I'm going to have to do. I have MLB.tv and a cable login, but not one of the providers doing MLB Network streaming. I've had mixed success using a VPN to tell MLB.tv I'm somewhere else, thankfully the early game should be a good guinea pig to test on.

See my post above. unlocator.com

I've used it all season for Cubs games when they are in Cincy/Atlanta because of blackouts. I've also used it for the playoffs last year and this year so far. It's 5 bucks for the month and it works.

Not sure it will be necessary. I was able to watch the MLB network games on my phone so far. The only issue you might have is Chicago. Also, if you have any kind of cable I think they are offering MLB network for free during the playoffs.

I still haven't found a non-mlb.tv+ps vue way of getting the game. And since I'm confined to the house with 2 nieces, I'm just going to assume Kyle does what Lester did last night and about 7 guys do what Javy did

Cubs starting lineup 2016 wRC+:

Bryant - 149

Rizzo - 145

Fowler - 129

Contreras - 126

Zobrist - 124

Russell - 95

Baez - 94

Heyward - 72

Heyward is better than he was this season (career wRC+ of 111), and he bats lefthanded. So I understand moving him up a bit.

But I'm just not feeling the decision to have Contreras batting 8th. He should be in that 4-5-6 range, not 8th.

F it. Think we’ll bang on Kendricks. Maybe I haven’t seen him pitch enough, but I just think he’s a gettable pitcher. Solid but this year was not a true talent level.

(Gonna ignore the fact he called him Kendricks)

From McCovey Chronicles commenter. Been reading this from pretty much every opposing team all year.

It's better that way. It makes his inevitable domination all the sweeter.

Anything can happen because baseball but this feels like as favorable of a game as we are ever going to get in the playoffs.

I like thinking of it from the Giants perspective. They need to win a game where they have a worse SP, worse offense, defense, and bullpen, on the road, to avoid an outcome where they have to win 3 straight games.

Get in here

I know there's no chance but WHAT IF??????

Theo has said time and time again it's not gonna happen. It 99% ain't happing unless they've been underestimating his rehab or playing coy to pump up the fans and team if he does come back. Bottom line, give me a 50% Schwarbs over Seal boy any day, They basically would perform the same function, a left handed bat off the bench. Seal boy ain't coming in for defense. If he's feeling really frisky Schwarbs could DH in the WS. Could you imagine the crowd at Wrigley if he came up to pinch hit in the NLCS? Holy horsefeathers.

This is just fantasy for the coming weeks, we still got to get two more big wins against a tough SF ball club.

I really want Addison Russell to make the big play tonight

after doing it like 10 times this year i think he's growing bored with the clutch hits

I think the offense just needed a game to get back into the "these games matter" mentality. I think they'll come out firing tonight. A few early runs, then a couple in middle innings, then a couple more against SF's weak bullpen.

KB and Addy go deep. Baez breaks a Giants player's nose while applying a tag. Okay, maybe not that last part but he'll make another Javy type play.

Cubs 7, Giants 1.
