Javier Baez, you beautiful bastard. In case you're an horsefeathers living under a rock, Javier Baez played hero by hitting a solo home run in the bottom of the 8th to give the Cubs the only run they needed in Game 1. The Cubs only mustered 3 hits off Cueto, two of them came form Javy Baez. Way to go kid.

The other hero of Game 1 game? Jon Lester. Tossing 8 shutout innings in a masterful performance that saw him only throw 86 pitches. Absolutely masterful. Cheers, Jon!

Let's talk Game 2, guys. Jon Lester was amazing, but in Game 2 the Giants are going up against Kyle Hendricks. In case you're an horsefeathers living under a rock, Kyle Hendricks is one of the front runners for the Cy Young this year because he rarely gives up runs. Or walks. He makes Greg Maddux proud. He's also a take-no-nonsense kind of guy. The kind of guy who, if you see him walking down a dark alley, you turn and run because you don't know what this man is capable of. His face strikes fear into the hearts of opposing players, and he's the most terrifying pitcher Major League Baseball has ever seen. Just look for yourself!

The Cubs will be going up against the guy that brought us Addison Russell, Mr. Jeff Samardzija!

In case you're an horsefeathers living under a rock, you may remember Jeff from such hits as "I don't think this team improves by trading Scott Feldman" as well as his repeated rejections of a contract extension. I can say from the bottom of my heart, Jeff: Thank you. ♪ Thaaaaaank you for being a Cub. Becaaaauuuse we got better without you. Aaaaaand we used your money on Lester. Thaaaaank you for being a Cub♪. Here's a breakdown of his regular season stats:

For those who had tuned out the Cubs in September(or assholes living under a rock), Samardzija faced the Cubs about a month ago: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN201609010.shtml

It did not go well for him. He lasted only 4 innings, giving up 3 runs(all in the first inning), and departing before even throwing a pitch in the 5th because it took him 87 pitches to navigate those 4 innings.

So is this game ACTUALLY on MLB Network, or are those [expletive] going to switch to FS1 after a half inning again, ruining my DVR'ing of the game?

It's on MLBN, why would you have not DVR'd FS1 last night?

Yeah, Derwood's actually right; it was listed to be on both channels. I was at a friend's place and his FS1 feed was cutting in and out, so when they suddenly dropped the game on MLBN despite having having the whole thing on their schedule, we had to bail and haul ass back to my place to finish watching.
