Moz said that Reyes had an MRI, but they don't know the results yet. Reyes informed medical staff that he was feeling discomfort in his right elbow.

No results till tomorrow.

I was going to jokingly bump this thread last night with pitchers and catchers reporting to say time to get this baby revved back up and set the over/under 5 days before a pitcher gets added to the list. Looks like I should've taken the under. We should be within about 10 days of one of the Mets pitchers having a "setback."

Oof....speculation is TJ

hmm i wonder if they would do TJ (if it is the UCL) or if they'd do the maness procedure.

Were the Cardinals proponents of that procedure that Maness had or did he go off by himself and do it, since he was a FA and since has signed elsewhere? Just wondering since it's a guy the Cardinals control, I could see them making Reyes have the standard TJS since it's more of a known procedure and giving up this season for Reyes might be in their best interest instead of going with what's a experimental procedure to maybe get him back this year but hurt him longer-term?

I know it was a St. Louis based surgeon, but I'm not sure if it's an actual Cardinals affiliation. It might depend on the nature of the ligament rupture, too.

Got it and yeah it all depends on exactly what it is. If there's any team to poo-poo any sort of new age/experimental procedures or treatments you'd think the Cardinals would be on the top of that list, however.

The surgeon is the Cardinals team doctor.

So he has to look at the Astros medical staff's notes before he proceeds?

Apparently Scherzer is maybe going to miss Opening Day/start of the season because he has a fractured knuckle on one of his fingers on his pitching hand. No idea how or when this happened.

Grant Brisbee is a prophet: http://www.sbnation.com/2017/3/1/14778474/mlb-spring-training-baseball-months-ranked

There will be an injury in the next four weeks that will ruin a season. It’s like all 30 teams are watching a hacky magician perform and terrified that he’ll call on them to be a part of his stupid act, except with ligaments and bones. He’ll call on one of those teams and then saw them in half. I will workshop this analogy before publishing.
