He's been taking night classes on his off days for the last several seasons and finishing up a robotics engineering degree at Cal Tech because he's just that good.

OR...

His elbow might have exploded and they're making sure it didn't

All these pitcher injury annoucements on the same day the top pitching prospect is debuting under the guidance of a Dusty Baker managed team, oh the irony

I got this article on Wikipedia, and I still don't know what thoracic outlet syndrome is.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thoracic_outlet_syndrome

Jaime Garcia, Josh Beckett, Chris Carpenter, Shaun Marcum all suffered from Thoracic Outlet Syndrome .

KC Royals Chris Young returned to MLB nearly two years after Dr Thompson treated him for TOS.

More on the ailment: the condition involves pressure on the nerves bundled between the collarbone and the first rib. Pain radiates into the arm. The patient can also experience numbness in the fingers. Young exhibited these symptoms, and his career in baseball exposed him to it, experts said

“It truly was a career-ending, career-threatening condition,” Thompson said.

Interestingly, Jaime Garcia announced almost exactly two years ago he would be having surgery which includes removal of a rib bone and some muscles in the neck. Approximately 3-4 month recovery time and ready for start of the next baseball season.

Phil Hughes recently underwent season ending surgery to also address TOS

My wife had a rib excised because of it several years ago. It's basically when blood vessels or nerves get pinched funny...in my wife's case between a rib and another bone (I don't remember all of the details at this point). In her case, she had tingling in her arm, and pain in her funny bone and back area. She was actually dealing with it, not thinking much of it, but a neurologist she goes to for another condition noticed muscle loss in her left hand, and it eventually was traced back to this. Once she had the rib excised, she's had no problems.

Do you take the over or under Kris Bryant years in a Cubs uniform being greater than the combined years of Harvey, Syndergaard and Degrom in a Mets uniform?

Do you take the over or under of Kris Bryant + Addison Russell years in a Cubs uniform being greater than the combined years of Harvey, Syndergaard, Degrom, Matz, and Wheeler in a Mets uniform?

Keep in mind Harvey and Wheeler have already had TJS, Matz and Thor are currently pitching with bone spurs (thought there was even some talk of Matz being shutdown), and now Harvey has this scary shoulder issue.

Degrom seems to be the only one healthy and he was a SS for awhile.

This is a punchable thing to say but I have been following Harvey since he was a HS senior and genuinely feel bad for the guy. Hopefully he avoids surgery and gets the opp for PRP treatment instead just on the principle that it beats the [expletive] out of a blade.

From what I understand, the surgery is inevitable, right? It's either get the surgery now, or take the short-term fix and then get surgery in the off-season.

I don't understand at all and am just rooting to avoid surgery out of principle. Sucks if surgery is really is inevitable

Neither do I. I just read that somewhere earlier, I thought. I might be off, considering I don't even remember the source.
