Morrow has competition for stupidest back injury:

Back injuries/pain really do happen from the dumbest horsefeathers though.

Doctor: Okay, Jimmy, you know how you attacked hitters before your injury?

Jimmy: Hell yeah.

Doctor: Well, that caused you to tear your labrum. You need to make some mechanical adjustments if you want to stay healthy and get back on the mound quicker.

Jimmy: .......

Doctor: Jimmy?

Jimmy: ......

Doctor: You okay?

*Jimmy starts to walk out, but stops at the door and turns around*

Jimmy: Hey, Doc?

Doctor: Yeah?

Jimmy: ...... horsefeathers you.

*Jimmy leaves*

I sammy Sosa'd a couple years ago with not that aggressive of a sneeze and was immobile for a few days.

Anyone else remember the 'Nelson will be back in the rotation in June' headlines before spring training? I still can't believe those were written, he tore his labrum in September.

Yeah it was crazy.

I don't know a lot about rehabbing injuries but wasn't Schwarber's comeback in the same season after shredding his knee crazy too? Not in the same category/analogous as a labrum for a pitcher?

Definitely not in the same realm. The amount of work you have to do just to regain range of motion on a torn labrum is ridiculous and most guys never recover all the velocity they had previously because of that alone. When you have an ACL tear, you're on a mobility machine regaining a huge chunk of range of motion damn near before you wake up from surgery. Shoulders suck. I've had mine fixed twice.

I wonder why the Cubs weren't in on Gausman? Controllable until 2021, acquisition cost was minimal, and he's been really good for the Braves.

I could see the idiots running the Orioles not dealing with us after the Jake/Strop trade even if we had the best offer. They seem dumb enough to operate that way.

They’re the West Coast Mets. This is like their third pitcher who was broken and they tried their magic elixirs on who ended up as broke or more broke anyways.

Good thing we didn't get Ohtani and went with the safe bet for our big offseason starting pitching splash.

Oh.
