Is J-Hey unfixable?

In looking at bWAR, he finished 2015 with 6.6 WAR with StL and never posted below 3.5 the previous 3 years. He posted a 2.3 bWAR with the Cubs last year. At the time, it was still a good signing by the Cubs based on his age and success, but damn...he can't be this marginal for the rest of his contract.

Is there even the slightest chance that he opts out this year? Is he a super honest guys that feels bad for not living up to the hype, and willing to move on, or maybe doesn’t want to become a bench player? I know I’m grasping at straws here.

yes he can be this bad forever and no he’s not opting out under any circumstances at this point. there were scenarios you could dream on before the season where he came out the gate better than his old self and ended up proving he was back and then some, but all that is off the table now.

He appeared to be fixed until Duke wrote an article about Heyward and broke him again.

Then he started a thread called “good things” or some horsefeathers. We are all doomed.

There is a slight chance, just like there is a slight chance of me winning the power ball lottery.

Jason Heyward is just irretrievably bad then right

I really thought Chili was going to un-break the breaking that Mallee had done. Turns out Mallee didn’t break him, he just forgot how to hit or something.

Worse signing by Theo: Jason Heyward or Carl Crawford?

Carl was worth 4.9 WAR post-Theo.

Heyward has been worth *gulp* 2.3 WAR.

PLOT TWIST: The Red Sox only got 0.2 WAR from Carl, the rest went to the Dodgers.

Basically they both suck.

Look within Yu, the real answer is there.

It's your only move, Jason. Sometimes the way back up is down. Let me tell you a story. It's 1994. I went ice climbing, and I fell into a crevasse. I hurt my leg, and I couldn't climb back up. So fighting every natural instinct, doing the thing that seemed most awful to me, I climbed down into the darkness. And that's how I got out. when I got back to base camp, I went and found my fellow climber, the one who had cut me loose after I fell. And I said, ''Connie Chung, you did the right thing.''
