what does "massive home runs" mean?

The thumbnail for that video was not doctored. They actually had to use post-production to take the blue laser out of the footage.

that made me cackle when I read it this morning.

Kyle Schwarber suffered a catastrophic knee injury, missed essentially the whole season, and then showed up at the World Series and started taking walks and driving balls off the top of the wall, off of a Cy Young winner, who was pitching one of his best games ever. That actually happened.

Dude can flat-out hit. Theo liked him for a reason because he hits a baseball, works the count like a member of the 2004 Red Sox lineup.

He's just a phenomenal talent.

Just the threat of him hitting is now enough to justify the decision to roster him.

Just too bad he won't be able to play more in games 3-5.

Joe said that they wouldnt rule out using him in the field at Wrigley. I don't think its a great idea, but he seems to have exceeded all previous expectations so why the hell not?

Oh wow...I hadn't heard that.

Schwarber drew only the 2nd walk of the season off Miller by a LH batter.

Too bad he missed a pitch in the 8th, but another 3-2 count which he did all night long.

Remember right after the injury when some people were thinking he would miss the start of next year?

I would say that they might have been wrong about that.

I was stuck listening to the radio, and it was unbelievable. He was our best hitter last night. He's amazing.

They asked Schwarber about that and he sort of smiled and said that won't happen.

Re last retweet Maddon said he kind of misspoke pregame, Schwarber hasn't been cleared to play the field by doctors...

Jesse Rogers ‏@ESPNChiCubs 10h10 hours ago

Maddon: "I will have nothing to say with that. That will be called from the medical staff."

Even when I initially heard about him playing in the field, I took it as little more than posturing. Hopefully the looming threat of a Schwarber PA pays some benefit even without the DH. *plays Jaws theme*
