Kyle Schwarber suffered a catastrophic knee injury, missed essentially the whole season, and then showed up at the World Series and started taking walks and driving balls off the top of the wall, off of a Cy Young winner, who was pitching one of his best games ever. That actually happened.

I was stuck listening to the radio, and it was unbelievable. He was our best hitter last night. He's amazing.

What was Zobrist, chopped communion wafer?

Forgot about Zobrist, who was great, but I'll stand by it anyway for no good reason.

I wonder how much Schwarber seeing the ball so well last night had to do with that him watching all those pitches off that crazy machine

Quick, lock Baez into a room with that machine for 13,000 pitches over the off-season

Counter argument: Don't change what Javy has been doing because it's clearly been working.

Just make sure you put a number on it.

"So Kyle, do feel physically like you're able to play the field?"

"I don't know. I haven't tried it. I'll try it out and see how it goes."

I love this.

This is the script for some sappy movie......

Seriously, I'm in legit awe that this TWENTY THREE year old can get cleared, take 2 games of AB's, cram as many swings as he can into a few days, get put into the horsefeathering MIDDLE of the lineup during the horsefeathering World Series, and immediately become the most feared guy playing on either team. Just insane.

The idiots on the broadcast were talking about this, and they were actually right for once. But, the fact that he is 23 and doing it makes it all the more crazy. This isn't Miguel Cabrera picking up a bat and instantly being Miguel Cabrera. This is a kid that was playing college ball two years ago. Including the playoffs, he'd only had 309 PA against major league pitching. Normal 23-year-olds that have half of a season's worth of PA against big league pitching usually are still struggling with getting used to the competition... when they are in the middle of the season and have seen those 300 PA everyday over the course of the last several months.

How loud is Wrigley going to be when they hear this on Friday?

Too bad they don't get walk-up music on the road. It'd be pretty funny to hear an opposing player walking up to Bone Thugs in Cleveland.

Schwarber has earned that right.

"Kyle, you guys need another set-up man with Rondon not being himself. Is that something you could do?"

"Well, I've never pitched before, but, horsefeathers it, yeah, I'll get it done."

This reminded me of something I was thinking about before Game 1. I imagined a conversation between Schwarber and La Stella when Schwarber came in to take his possible roster spot going something like the one Homer had with Darryl Strawberry:

TLS: hey, you're Kyle Schwarber

KS: Yes

TLS: You're a left handed hitter

KS: Yes

TLS: I'm a left handed hitter, too

KS: So...

TLS: Well are you better than me?

KS: Well... I haven't played all year, but yes

Highest OPS, Minimum 40 postseason PA:

Schwarber 1.274

Next highest 1.215

Ruth and Gehrig were both on the list below that.
