Apparently just an ankle sprain. I'm calling [expletive] but I hope it's true

I still expect DL time.

Yeah I expect it too, no reason to rush and we have the depth and even ankle sprains can take quite some time to heal. But we could be looking at only missing him for 20-30 games instead of 3 months to the whole year which I just assumed the latter was happening.

Yep. Based on reports, if they don't find any broken bones, I'm guessing this is a Grade 3 ankle sprain. It usually takes me 6 weeks to heal fully from that, so I'm guessing we see him back in early May.

They were testing his ACL on the field, and it really didnt look like it passed that test. I thought he was gone for 2016. Very happy to hear, hopefully the mri goes as well.

The at bat he had before the injury was a really great at bat, too :/

I feel like if the ACL tests didnt go well that this would be reported as a knee injury now.

Obviously they will MRI ankle and knee cause he may have sprained knee.

part of me wonders why they wouldn't diagnose/announce even a knee sprain without an MRI if they thought his knee was messed up (since they did announce an ankle sprain), but I'm mostly thinking we're not even a little out of the woods on the knee thing. at first i was optimistic since they didn't even mention the knee.

hopefully the initial tests are good on the knee and were bad on the ankle and that's what they announced what they announced, and then the MRI would be just to rule out/confirm diagnosis.

otherwise it's almost bad news that xrays were negative, since that means it's something worse than a break would've been.

if it's an ACL, it's a shame that we don't play in the AL. schwarber could continue to be DH with a torn ACL. you don't need an intact knee ligament to job around the bases after donging.

If the initial diagnosis of a sprain holds, we'll be freaking fortunate.

:beg:

I fear that the MRI results are gonna be real bad.
